In 2006, Lamborghini introduced the LP640 variant of the Murcielago, receiving a higher displacement V12 engine, revised styling, modified suspension, and an upgraded clutch for the E-Gear transmission. Finished in Nero Noctis over a Nero leather interior, this 2007 Roadster was custom ordered with the Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Package, the Branding Package, Engine Frame/Under Bonnet in Carbon Fiber, yellow brake calipers, Q-Citura contrast stitching, and Titanium-finished Hercules wheels. This Murcielago was delivered new to Lamborghini of Newport Beach, California, and was said to be part of an extensive Orange County car collection and received regular dealership service from new. Having recently received a $16k engine-out service from the selling dealership, this Lamborghini is now being offered at auction by the seller based out of California showing just 5,913 miles on the odometer.
The exterior is presented in Nero Noctis (LY9B) with a black fabric soft top. The seller describes the finish to be in excellent condition, having been stored in a climate-controlled garage and regularly maintained by an in-house professional detailer, noting some extremely minor rock chips on the nose. From the factory, the LP640 received a revised front bumper and rear diffuser, LED tail lights, an enlarged left-side air intake to accommodate a larger oil cooler, and a trapezoidal center-exit exhaust outlet. Other exterior equipment includes yellow brake calipers with black Lamborghini script, speed-controlled rear air intakes, and bi-xenon headlamps. The 18” Titanium-finished Hercules wheels are mounted with Pirelli P-Zero tires displaying date codes from 2016.
The cabin features Nero leather upholstery and grey contrast stitching on the center console, door panels, dashboard, and seats, accented by carbon fiber trim on the door sills, center console, driver’s instrument panel, passenger grab handle, parking brake handle, instrument binnacle, and windshield wind deflector. The 4-way power-adjustable seats wear quilted Q-Citura diamond-stitched inserts and debossed Lamborghini emblems on the headrests. Driver’s amenities include automatic climate control, keyless entry, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, a 4-speaker sound system, and a Kenwood multimedia head unit with navigation. The seller reports no sticky buttons and describes the interior to show only very minor signs of age.
Under the translucent engine cover and carbon fiber cross brace sits the naturally aspirated 6.5L V12, which was factory rated at 631 HP and 487 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed E-Gear automated manual transmission with a limited-slip differential, which can propel the LP640 Roadster to 60 MPH in 3.8 seconds all the way to its claimed top speed of over 200 MPH. The CARFAX report shows this Lamborghini to have received dealership maintenance from new, including a major engine-out service carried out in October of 2021, which consisted of a D Service of the E-Gear transmission, new spark plugs, and associated gaskets, filters, and fluids at a cost of almost $15k.
This sale will include 4 sets of keys, owner’s manuals, a car cover, a battery charging system, and driving gloves.

Gorgeous. It’s amazing how much presence these roadsters have in the flesh. With a good exhaust the Murcielago is one of the most emotive street-legal screamers ever made. Every true gearhead should be able to experience taking one of these monsters to redline! Unforgettable…

Bidders! As we draw close to end of this Auction. I want thank all of you for looking, and taking the time to comment and bid. I want to wish all of you the best of luck on winning this perfect example of a LP640. I will say you will be hard pressed finding a better example of one. The car is a virgin, with all the bits and sorted well. Happy bidding!!
Also search Cars.com for example in the 300-600k range for all cars. No make or model comes close to what a 640 and especially a Roadster offers as a total package. I look at cars like they're businesses and the entire car market like it's the SP500. I like to think I know a lot about all makes and models. 640 and especially Roadsters are crazy under valued. I also don't feel like that about all my personal cars. I over payed for 1 or 2 and i don't care because i love them. But my 640 is a great one because i can have my cake and eat it too!
@igalmd if you don’t feel comfortable on bidding on my car, feel free to stop watching vehicle. I would assume if you are looking at this auction, you are familiar with Lamborghini, and should have a good idea what car is worth.
@doc18015 and @igalmd i emailed pcar to give you guys my info as the rules don't allow sharing of info publicly.
Unfortunately last second bidding is how these types of auctions run. And usually bidders ask questions privately to avoid educating the competition. My technique is to bid my max bid day 1 but usually at a slight discount. So the rest of the week people are basically positive they will not get the car and none else bids. :) Doesn't always work.
@igalmd the bidders are engaging , I also believe there is more than ample info and records to make a buyer comfortable. If they win auction, they can choose to do a PPI.
Heavy bidding increments before the last hour is very suspicious too. Put in a 300k bid JC
It’s very suspicious when a bidder doesn’t ask any questions to the seller at this price
How does anyone know of the bidders are real bidders or auction boosters if you can’t look at their bidding histories?

Bp95gsx@igalmd .com is this your e-mail address? I am in Pa and need to have an independent auto shop that can do my LP640. Your comments on the seller's car are spot on for these autos! The collectability of the 640 is extremely high for the reasons mentioned but also that even Lambo management admits that the 640 ids the last of the breed. You comment as greater than 400K .... I think this vintage will exceed $500K in less than two years. Very few remain available. We have Kerbeck in the Pa area .... very pricy and not my kind of dealership. I prefer independent and fair pricing along with expert knowledge. I hope the seller holds out for the real money on this gem!
@Bp95gsx I’m in nyc and looking for an experienced shop to take car of a few of my cars. How far away are you from me? Do you have a website link?
@igalmd in North Jersey.
Would have should have could have….back then it was not as prominent as today. We could have done the entire car. But overall there is very minor chipping on nose. Not very noticeable.
Good evening and thanks for looking. It’s a private sell, not a dealer. Car is located in Orange County.
@Bp95gsx where if your shop located?
A little PPF would have gone a long way…
My statement has 0 affiliation with the seller.
As an ex-exotic car mechanic of 15 years, doing TONS of 640 and Murci work, I can say 640 clutch systems are extremely stout. I once had to put a clutch in a 640 that had 18k miles as preventative maintenance ONLY because the car was scheduled to go on a 3000 mile rally. It was driving perfect with 0 slip or any issues at all and clutch was original from new. It was a rental car non the less with lots of harsh NYC city driving most of its life. It looked brand new when i pulled it out and but was instructed to replace it as I said. I am also a current 640 Roadster owner amogst many other cars of this era. I know these cars inside and out. Unless this car was driven in stop and go traffic its entire life or launched a million times, there is no chance it needs a clutch. And even if it did, which is next to impossible, the clutch replacement cost is all but 3-4% of the cost of this car. And why would the seller skimp on a 4k clutch or so when he paid 15k for the big service?? Buy the car and hammer on it the way they were meant to be driven!! Or park it and stare at it. I do both to mine.
I also feel this car will go to 400k in no time. 640 are super under valued as i said in my original post in this thread. The angular lines of an Aventador are no good for me and many others agree. These are the last Bizzarrini V12 engines ever and the sound, the feel of a steel chassis and ease of working on this car are second to none in my humble opinion. Any Joe shmo mechanic can do 99% of any kind of work it will ever need for the next 50+ years. Truly one of the last cars waiting to take off in value.
. Hi Folks, hope you are getting excited about this car, we only have another day or so left. There has been several questions about clutch on car. I spoke to Lamborghini of Orange County today, and here is my service guys response to my question on clutch life.
From David the lambo service representative
I do not have those measurements. From the maintenance we performed the measurement was still "in the green" with plenty of clutch life left. Good luck with bidding and don’t let this beauty slip away.
@igalmd good morning, no I do t have pictures of undercarriage, and I requested that info from Lambo. The engine out service as preformed, and they did not recommend clutch replacement, as you can see in notes on recommendations at end of service records.
@igalmd good morning, I do not. If you read in the notes from recent service. Lamborghini had asked if we wanted the road rash repaired. It was very minimal around $2.5k to repaint.
@igalmd good morning, and thank you for looking. If you scroll through the pics you will see the picture of hood open containing roof and bag. Good luck bidding!
@BATLP640 do you have photos of the road rash on the underside?
Do you have photos of the underside? Do you have a clutch snap reading?
Does it come with a complete roof set and roof bag?
Bid in the amount of $152,007
@SofiaLeo good afternoon! Thanks for looking , and of course the Kudo’s. The car has never had paint work, nor been in an accident. It’s a clean 1 owner virgin car, with Zero mods. I can assure you, it will be hard to find a cleaner car. Thanks for looking…hope to see your bid on this beauty.
@BATLP640 Nice Lambo! Has your car ever been in any accidents or had any type of paint work? Thank you
Buyer’s Happy Saturday to all, I have a had a few questions regarding the Major 15k service on Murci. Please scroll to end of the picture's, the last set of photo’s are of service recently completed. And 2 recommendations from Lamborghini. One of road rash under front bumper, due to usual bottoming out into driveway etc, even with front lift it happens. They also recommended tires by Date not wear, stamped at 2017. Happy bidding and have a great day to all.
@Pghmiller good morning, thank you for the inquiry. I will contact Lamborghini of O.C on Monday. A reply to your post with reading. I can assure you we would have had the clutch replaced, even if it was close to min reading while engine was out. Thanks for looking
We understand that the dealer didn't recommend replacing the clutch, but we need to know the snap reading? Thank you
@3Pedal good evening, if you scroll to the end of the pictures, you will see the full invoice from Lamborghini of Orange County. Thanks for looking!
What was included in the engine out service if there was no clutch replacement?
@3ktt thank you ? the car is completely stock. The dealer did not suggest new clutch.
@seller. Beautiful roadster! Did you by any chance do a clutch snap while you had it serviced? Is it factory exhaust or aftermarket.
Bid in the amount of $150,000
Wow! What a complete gem! A low mileage bone stock 640 Roadster is an impossible find these days! They have truly disappeared within the last 6 months. I have a 640 Roadster and a CGT. I have to say the looks, and dare i say sound of the 640 are superior in my opinion. The body is the perfect amount of in your face and class all at the same time. I highly think the 640 and especially the insane looking Roadster are still severely under valued. Plus it has the full engine out major done! And raaaare CCB option!! Good luck to the seller. And to the future owner, you're about to aquire one of the best cars ever!
Hey all!!! Happy to see this Auction today. I am real pleased to have this done auto listed with Pcar this week, and hope you all get a chance on winning this fine LP640. I am here or answer any questions. Happy Bidding…
