DT: 15K-Mile 2007 Porsche 997 Carrera S Coupe 6-Speed

We are pleased to present this 2007 Porsche Carrera S Coupe finished in Guards Red over a Stone Grey full leather interior.  With a proper history of maintenance, a sought after 6-speed manual and the Sport Chrono Plus Package, this coupe is not to be overlooked.  This low mileage example of the celebrated 997 generation is stated to be in excellent condition and shows only 15k miles on the odometer.  This 997 is now offered for sale by the selling dealer out of California.

The Guards Red finish on this coupe is stated to be in excellent overall condition (detailed images are available in the photo gallery).  The seller notes that an application of ceramic coating has been applied over the full exterior of the vehicle and paint protection film has been applied on the rockers and mirrors for extra road going protection.  Exterior details include bi-xenon headlights with washers, an automatically deploying rear spoiler, factory 19” Lobster claw wheels, quad exhaust outlets and tint applied to the rear and side windows.

Inside this 997 you will find a Stone Grey full leather interior.  The cabin is said to be in excellent condition with all electronics remaining fully functional.  With an MSRP of $89k, noteworthy details include a sunroof, the Sport Chrono Package, and the Power Seat Package.  It is clear that this 911 is for the true driving enthusiast.

Power comes from a 3.8L flat-six engine that is capable of producing 355 HP.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission which allows this coupe to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in approximately 4.6 seconds. A pre-purchase inspection was carried out by SCV German Car Service in Santa Clarita, California in July 2020 in which all checked out OK.  Said to be in excellent running order with a consistent history of maintenance and a clean Carfax, this 997 S is ready to be enjoyed.

Included in the sale of this 997 is a master key, a DME Report, tools and a clean Carfax report.  An oil change will be performed upon delivery. If you are in search of a tastefully appointed low-mileage 997 S, this example makes an excellent choice.

Has the IMS bearing issue been addressed or would it even need to be addressed? I believe by 2007, Porsche redesigned the IMS bearings but after extensive research on my 2006 C4, I am a bit unclear if the IMS issue was completely resolved for the 2007 model year. That was a $3k preventative fix for my 2006 and hoping it wouldn't be with this cherry 911.

@Mpoweroo1 There’s no way to inspect the IMS without taking the car apart. The car has no leaks, seepage, or unusual consumption of oil. The 997 IMS bearing has a much lower failure rate than the 996 bearing. I don’t think anyone would want to start taking apart a mint 15k mile car unless they needed to. Under the old adage “if ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. If you have any more questions please let me know. Thank you!

@FLCarNut Hi there! I understand your point but I think I can explain why it looks that way on the CARFAX as I actually have spoken to the previous owner. Owner 1 had this car from new to 2017! That’s a decent run. Owners 2-4 were believed to be dealers. Many dealers throughout the US are required to take title of the vehicle when it’s in inventory. (This is not the case in CA) hence the reason we do not come up as owner 6 on the CARFAX. Anytime title or registration is updated it’s recorded as an owner on CARFAX whether it’s a private owner or dealer in those states that require them to take title even when in inventory. If you have any more questions, please let me know. Just took the car for a brief drive, as I always do to keep the fluids flowing. She runs like new from factory! -Mike

Seller: This car has had FIVE owners and it only has 15K miles? That strikes me as being a bit odd IMHO.
