Up for auction is this 2007 Porsche 987 Cayman S finished in Black over a black interior with leather Sport Seats. Unveiled in 2005 based upon the 987 Boxster, the original Porsche Cayman featured a sleek fastback coupe design that provided a stiffer chassis and increased storage capacity compared to its open-top counterpart. This 2007 S-model features a naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine connected to a 6-speed manual transmission, and came factory optioned with Porsche crested headrests, a thickened leather steering wheel, rear center console in carbon fiber, the Sport Chrono Package, PASM, Bose High-End Sound Package, and more. Cared for by the same owner since new, this well-documented Cayman S has accumulated less than 10k miles and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois.
This 987 is finished in nonmetallic Black (A1)and features factory-exclusive chrome tailpipes, optional Bi-Xenon headlamps, a rear window wiper, and red-painted brake calipers. The car is described to have been kept in excellent condition overall with over $4,500 recently invested in professional paint correction and ceramic coating, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This Cayman S rides on optional 19” Carrera Classic wheels factory fitted with 5mm wheel spacers. These wheels come dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires dated from 2015.
Inside, you will find a black interior appointed with leather Sport Seats featuring optional Porsche crested headrests. The first-generation Cayman S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine featuring a two-stage resonance induction system, integrated dry-sump lubrication, and VarioCam Plus variable valve timing. As much as 295 HP and 252 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and Active Brake Differential (ABD) come standard, while optional features include the Sport Chrono Package and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The car has enjoyed a lifetime of routine annual service carried out primarily by authorized Porsche dealers in Illinois and Wisconsin. A corresponding collection of service records is said to accompany the sale and there are no outstanding maintenance items reported at this time.
