Available for auction is this 2008 Can-Am Spyder Premier Edition finished in Millenium Yellow. Launched in 2007, the Can-Am Spyder is a three wheeled motorcycle. It is powered by a 998cc V-twin Rotax engine which drives a single rear wheel, leaving steering to the dual front wheels. This 2008 example was acquired new by the seller and has since received all major services through the dealer. It has been tastefully upgraded with a performance sway bar, Corbin hard bags, xenon lights, a Hindle exhaust system, and more. It is now being offered for auction having covered just under 10k miles, by its seller out of California.
The Spyder uses a chassis similar to that of an atv, providing a stable comfortable ride. This example is finished in premium Millenium Yellow, with a black seat and details and is numbered 425 of approximately 2,500 initial U.S. offerings. Minor blemishes to the finish have been noted by the seller; detailed images are provided in the gallery. Equipment includes rear racing lights, a rear seat cowl, Corbin hard bags, a seat cover and trunk liner, xenon lights, and a handlebar riser which was installed by the original dealer. It rides on its original 3-spoke wheels dressed in an original set of Kena radial tires.
Power comes from a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 998cc V-twin Rotax engine that produces up to106 HP and 77 lb-ft of torque. The single rear wheel is driven by way of a 5-speed transmission with reverse. A special steel center beam allows the engine to be mounted low for a superior center of gravity, and the front suspension is comprised of double wishbones. A performance sway bar has been installed for improved cornering, and a Hindle exhaust gives this Spyder a sporty tone. The seller notes that they have carried out routine oil changes themself, while all other services including mechanical inspections, recalls, and fluid flushes have been performed at the dealer.
