Marking the final year of production, the SL55 AMG was offered as the high-performance version of the R230 SL-Class, equipped with a supercharged 5.4L V8 engine producing 510 HP, Active Body Control (ABC) adaptive suspension, larger brakes including 6-piston calipers in the front, and a sculpted AMG body kit. This 2008 example was delivered new to Mercedes-Benz of Westmont, Illinois, and was ordered in Iridium Silver Metallic over a black Nappa leather interior, and was optioned with a panoramic roof with a sunshade, carbon fiber interior trim, the Premium 1 Package, and Parktronic parking assist. It was relocated to Florida in 2009 before being sold as a Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-owned vehicle in 2010, where it remained until being acquired by the seller in April of 2022. Now showing approximately 39k miles on the odometer and benefitting from a lifetime of Mercedes-Benz dealership service, this 2008 SL55 AMG is being offered at auction by the seller based out of Florida.

The exterior is finished in Iridium Silver Metallic (775) and features a retractable power aluminum hardtop with a panoramic roof panel. Equipment includes AMG-specific bodywork consisting of a front AMG air dam with mesh grilles, molded side skirts, and a rear apron with a mesh air diffuser,  bi-xenon headlights with heated washers, heated power mirrors with integrated LED turn indicators, a deployable black roll bar, silver brake calipers with black AMG script, fender vents, “V8 Kompressor” badging, fog lights with corner illumination LED tail lamps, and four polished exhaust tips. The rear wheels are driven by a 5-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission, allowing for acceleration from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and an electronically controlled top speed of 155 MPH. Performance features include an AMG-tuned ABC adaptive suspension, 6-piston brake calipers in the front and 4 piston calipers in the rear, Electronic Stability Progam (ESP), and speed-sensitive power steering. This SL55 AMG has benefitted from a lifetime of Mercedes-Benz dealership service as recorded in the CARFAX report, and recent work includes the replacement of the front and rear brake pads, a new air filter, a flush of the braking system, and a service of the transmission.
