Up for auction is this highly-optioned 997 Porsche Turbo Cabriolet finished in Black over a Natural Brown leather interior.  Equipped with the legendary Mezger engine and a handful of unique factory options, this Turbo represents a prime example of what is so special about this generation 911.   A lifelong California car, this 2008 example shows only 46k miles driven and is being offered in excellent overall condition by its seller in Irvine, CA.

The black finish on this Turbo is said to remain in excellent all-original condition.  Exterior features include an exterior color-matching black power-operated Cabriolet top as well as tasteful aftermarket wheels finished in black with Porsche crested center caps.  These wheels wear a set of Michelin tires and show to be in great condition side from one bend on the front passengers side wheel.

Upon entry, the driver is greeted by a Natural Brown leather interior that showcases desirable factory options such as Makassar trimming throughout, heated seats, sport chrono package, Carrara White instrument dials, crested headrests and more.  This interior is stated to be in excellent condition with minimal wear and all gauges, electrical components and accessories in working order.  Commanding an original MSRP of over $161k, additional factory options include:

  • Defroster air vents leather
  • Spoiler lip painted
  • Lower part of rear apron painted
  • Storage compartment lid w/model logo
  • Door entry guards steel - illuminated
  • Makassar package switch panel
  • Cabriolet roof in black
  • Standard rocker panels painted
  • Leather sun visors - lighted Mirror

Originally developed for the 911 GT1 Le Mans car, the Mezger engine is regarded by many Porsche experts to be the ultimate water-cooled power plant.  Furthermore, this engine does not suffer from IMS bearing related issues as its oil system ensures constant lubrication.  This 997’s 3.6 L twin-turbocharged Mezger engine delivers approximately 480 HP to all four wheels by way of a Tiptronic S automatic transmission.  A locking rear differential coupled with the sport chrono package liven up the ride while putting even more control in the hands of the driver.  This vehicle comes with extensive maintenance records and is reported to run excellent.

The sale will include books, service records, a clean Carfax, and 2 keys.  With a proven drivetrain, clean bill of health and low original miles, this car is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
