Now up for auction is this 2008 Porsche 997 Carrera Coupe finished in Carrara White over a black standard leather interior. This 2008 example was purchased new by its first owner from Jack Daniels Audi of Upper Saddle River in New Jersey at an original sticker of over $86k.It features a 6-speed manual transmission along with illuminated door sill guards in stainless steel, the Bi-Xenon Lighting System, red-painted brake calipers, and Exclusive black-painted 19” Carrera Sport wheels. Having enjoyed a lifetime of proper routine maintenance always carried out by authorized Porsche dealers, this 997 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts while showing just under 27k miles on the odometer.
This 997 was ordered in nonmetallic Carrara White with factory optioned red brake calipers and 19” Carrera Sport wheels in a black-painted finish. The front bumper and hood have been preserved under clear paint protection as well as the forward half of the front fenders. Additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The wheels feature colored Porsche center crests and Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires.
Inside, the driver is greeted by a black standard leather interior with heated and power-operated seats, illuminated door sill guards in stainless steel, and floor mats with leather edging. The driver is also supplied with self-dimming mirrors, the Bi-Xenon Lighting System, and Navigation Module for PCM.
This first-generation 997 Carrera is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six engine rated at 325 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in under 5 seconds. The car has been maintained exclusively through authorized Porsche dealers, namely Jack Daniels Porsche of New Jersey, and Porsche Huntington of New York. All scheduled service has been carried out including routine spark plug and fluid changes. The seller states that a fresh service will also be completed prior to sale with all new fluids, filters, and belts.
This sale will include a clean title. Well maintained with low miles and desirable factory options, this 6-speed 997 Carrera is not to be missed.

@m3b This 2008 probably has a M97 engine. But they too have scoring concerns. I personally don’t see much difference in exhaust tips in picture 77.
Bore scope analysis is always helpful but in it’s absence a cold start up and engine idle video can be helpful. In general to anyone trying to sell the 996 through the 997.1 scopes can give insight and some piece of mind. The whole issue may be over blown but not according to Jake Raby.

Bore scoring inspection performed? Photo #77 has noticeable soot on LH exhaust, none on RH exhaust. LH exhaust is fed by right-bank cylinders #4-6, most typical bore scoring cylinders in M96 engines.
