We are pleased to present this stunning 2008 997 Turbo Cabriolet finished in Cobalt Blue Metallic.  Equipped with the legendary Mezger engine and 6-speed manual transmission, this Turbo represents a prime example of what is so special about this generation 911.  A lifelong California car, this one-owner 2008 example boasts an impressive build sheet and is now being offered for auction with just 27k miles on the odometer by it's seller in Arizona.

The rarely seen Cobalt Blue Metallic finish on this Turbo remains in excellent all-original condition as indicated by the seller.  This 997 is reported to have been garage-kept its entire life and is Carfax confirmed accident-free.  Factory options include a Stone Gray power-operated Cabriolet top as well as beautiful 19” factory 997 Turbo wheels which come wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

Upon entry, the driver is greeted by a Stone Gray full leather interior that showcases desirable factory options.  This interior is stated to be in exceptional condition with all gauges, electrical components and accessories in working order.  Commanding an original MSRP of $143,580, this Turbo comes equipped with the following options:

  • Axle-Differential Lock Rear
  • Heated Front Seats
  • Parking Assist System
  • Sport Chrono Package Turbo
  • Adaptive Sport Seats
  • Sport Shifter
  • Porsche Crest in Headrest
  • Bose Sound System
  • Bi-Xenon Projector Headlamps

Originally developed for the 911 GT1 Le Mans car, the Mezger engine is regarded by many Porsche experts to be the ultimate water-cooled power plant.  Furthermore, this engine does not suffer from IMS bearing related issues as its oil system ensures constant lubrication.

This 997’s 3.6 L twin-turbocharged Mezger engine delivers about 480 HP to all four wheels by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission.  A locking rear differential coupled with the Sport Chrono Package liven up the ride while putting even more control in the hands of the driver.  This vehicle comes with extensive maintenance records and is reported to run excellent.  With a proven drivetrain, a clean bill of health and low original miles, this car is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

The sale of this Turbo will include the original owners’ manuals, service books, air compressor, spare tire, jack and toolkit as well as two sets of keys.  Accompanied by a clear title, this Turbo stands ready for immediate delivery to a new owner.

Hope bidding increases, this is a beautiful looking car, with a sought after manual. The DME is a pretty standard request for the manual turbo. It does cost to obtain one but most buyers want to see it. Good luck to the seller. I’d be bidding but have a 2008 turbo coupe in the stable already.

@mezgertt no I don't have either currently. I did meter car when it arrived but didn't photograph the readings, it has no paint work on any sheet metal panels. Rear bumper has been painted and is a good color and metallic match. Front bumper original has screw holes from plate and a few touched up blemishes. Could use repainted if you want car 10/10 perfect. No issues to detract from an ultra clean driver condition car.

@canyonclassics Hello, do you have paint meter reading pictures and a DME report that you can post? It would be helpful. Thanks.

@clay7484 sorry I do not have one available and am out of town on business until next week. This is a low mile 1 owner cabrio, not something someone has tracked or driven agressive.

Could you please post a DME report?

@canyonclassics thanks for the pics and follow up.
I own and have owned a fair amount of 911’s (6 and 7’s). Gaps are usually pretty consistent. Maybe the hood was pushed down or nose cover removed/adjusted. But if the original owner can’t shed light, I guess we won’t know for sure. Thanks again

@geb217 I took a pic across the edge of hood and they uploaded it about Midway through the photo set. (Look for the white 911 cab in background) The front bumper edge might be half a mm higher, and hood edges line up perfect around rest of hood. I have owned dozens of 996-997 over the past 10 years and that little variation doesn't seem out of the ordinary to me. Might be some adjustability in the catch latch or could be shimmed with a few tiny washers if it bothers you that much after you put in a bid and own it.

@geb217 I'll take a look at the car this morning. Nothing I ever noticed. More than likely the angle of the picture.

  • geb217 (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@canyonclassics picture 14 and others looks like front edge of front hood ( frunk) is sitting low - could be the angle of the pic but it doesn’t look like a consistent spaced edge on front

  • canyonclassics (seller) 4 years, 5 monthsago

@geb217 not sure what your seeing but hood is perfectly in line no issues.

  • geb217 (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

Front hood appears to be out of line at front seam.
Can you post other pics or disclose any info about it.
    Thanks
