This 997’s 3.6 L twin-turbocharged Mezger engine delivers 480 HP to all four wheels by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission.  The Variable Turbine Geometry of the 997 Turbo engine adapts the vanes on the turbine wheel to reduce turbo lag at low speeds while opening to prevent excessive back pressure at high RPM.  Equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package, this engine can deliver brief moments of over boost, increasing peak torque to over 500 lb-ft over a narrow RPM range.
