Now available for auction is this modified 2008 Porsche 997 Carrera S finished in Carrara White over a black interior with Sport Seats. Equipped from the factory with a 6-speed manual gearbox, this Carrera S was brought to the renowned Vision Motorsports in Southern California by its current owner to undergo a complete custom engine rebuild to a larger 4.2L displacement. In addition to its enlarged power plant, this 997 features KW V3 coil-overs, a Fabspeed intake and headers, a lightweight flywheel, upgraded suspension components, genuine BBS wheels, a ducktail rear spoiler, and GT3-style front fascia. A true race car for the road, this 997 offers blistering performance and would be a strong contender in a variety of track events. With approximately 86k-miles showing on the odometer and 10k-miles on the rebuilt engine, this monster of a 997 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Southern California.
This 997 is finished in Carrara White and features a factory Aerokit front bumper, a Porsche Motorsports GT3 Cup front lip, and a Getty ducktail rear spoiler. Some chips and road-going wear are noted throughout the exterior and CARFAX shows an accident report in 2013 which is said to have resulted in the replacement of a rear bumperette. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. This Carrera S rides on a set of genuine BBS E88 three-piece wheels that are currently dressed in Bridgestone RE-71R tires.
Inside, you will find a black interior with optional heated Adaptive Sport Seats, a thicker leather steering wheel, and the Sport Chrono Package Plus. Other factory features include the Bose High-End Sound Package as well as a shifter and handbrake in leather/aluminum. A removable Diono Radian child seat is also currently fitted in the rear. Some signs of wear are noted, and the seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.
At approximately 76,500 miles, the original 3.8L flat-six engine was completely rebuilt by Vision Motorsports and upgraded to a 4.2L displacement. The cost of the rebuild was over $30,000 and includes Vision’s “Track Package” which adds a knife-edged crankshaft, deeper oil sump, a third radiator, and other track-oriented reliability mods. Further, while the motor was removed, Vision addressed other known issues inherent with the M97 motor to ensure long-term reliability. For example, the IMS bearing was replaced with an upgraded unit from LN Engineering. The coolant tank and starter cable were also inspected and deemed to be in good condition as well as the clutch, which was replaced shortly before the current owner's purchase.
The new “VM2” motor was also fitted with a Fabspeed air intake, Fabspeed ceramic-coated headers, a Cargraphics x-pipe with 200 cell cats, RSS engine mounts, and an Aasco lightweight flywheel. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission which was also upgraded with a Numeric shifter. Suspension modifications include KW V3 coil-overs, a Tarett oversized front anti-roll bar, a factory GT2 rear anti-roll bar, front and rear heim jointed end links, RSS GT3 front control arms, and RSS rear locking toe links. The suspension is tuned for autocross and approximately 10k-miles have been driven on the rebuilt engine with only a single day of track use. The car has been maintained by the seller and Vision Motorsports and recent service items are said to include new rear brake rotors, a new slave cylinder, and an oil and filter change which was carried out in July of 2020. The car has passed California’s SMOG test twice, most recently in March of 2021.
The seller adds that the 4.2L motor transforms the car. The sheer swell of power provided by the added displacement, the lightning-quick responsiveness of the knife-edged crank, and the pure sound of the motor provide an experience truly unlike any other 997.
This sale will include a clean title. The stock parts that were removed from the car are also available from the seller and may be included with the sale pending further arrangements. Offering a combination of stunning looks, long-term reliability, track-oriented performance, and road-going comfort, this is a very special 997 that is sure to satisfy anyone who enjoys the art of driving.

@Joesaddiction Thank you! I must say that a rev-matched 3rd to 2nd downshift is a special experience. I wish I could capture that in a bottle.

@luis.seneriz sure, we can figure out what to do with the wheels. Please note that you can easily sell them for $3-4k. I have received 50+ emails asking to sell the wheels separately.
@luis.seneriz Yes cats but high flow cats by HJS,
Yes Fabspeed headers and ceramic coated for lower heat,
Yes Fabspeed intake,
Yes custom tube,
No IPD plenum,
No GT3 throttle body.
Thanks and good luck.
I hate I phone auto correct stuff. I just wanted to know if the car has those? Also not certain but if I win I want the factory wheels not those on the pics.
Does the car garage the larger throttle and ipd plenum and custom tune?? Thanks good luck to everyone.
Btw, the car has its own Instagram page @4.2liter_911
Will relinquish the handle to the next owner. Best of luck to all bidders tomorrow.
Bid in the amount of $35,000
not sure how to edit, disregard my questions.
How much HP and torque did it make to the wheels? What brand dyno was used?
Thanks in advance.
@PCARMARKET @PCARMARKET, @luis.seneriz is all set now. I emailed him last night.
@luis.seneriz very simple to do via the contact seller button.
Can’t send
Pm to you. This sucks.
@luis.seneriz please use the private message function and send me your email address. I will email them to you.
I want to see dyno sheet and also recent service receipts if you have them. As you can tell I’m interested in it and have done some research but the less information I have the less I’m willing to bid on it,
@adlee16 Awesome car. Good seller! GLWA!
Also, if the buyer is not interested in the stock wheels, I know someone who is interested. I will help facilitate a deal if the buyer is interested. Thanks.
Btw, someone else asked about receipts from previous owners.
Yes, I have a folder full of receipts from the previous owners and it will come with the car.
Please note that there will be no receipts for oil changes because I have done all oil changes myself every 6-12 month using Motul 8100 before the rebuild and Liquimoly Synthetic Race Oil after.
@dukmon Please send me your email address using the "send message" function. I have no ability to send buyers a message through the website. I will then send you the receipt. Thanks.
Bid in the amount of $32,250
I also did ghee egg research and spoke with vision. Awesome.
I’ll be bidding on it , by the way I love the ducktail on it I have on on my 99 carrera coupe. Can you pm me and send me the dyno info. Thanks Luis
Hey....... sorry if I'm overlooking this. Can you post the receipts from the rebuild? I would like to review and possibly contact the shop that performed the work.
Thanks.
Someone asked this the other day and I feel it would be helpful to share with everyone.
Question:
So if I win the auction what is the deal with the stock parts if I want them and what do you all have?
Answer:
The winner gets all the stock parts that I have for the car. The only issue to consider is shipping of the parts because they probably cannot all fit in the car. So basically, they are yours for the taking but you must figure out how to get them home.
The parts that I have are the following:
Stock lobster claw wheels (black with silver lip) with tires
Stock front bumper
Stock rear decklid
Stock headers
Stock cats
Stock front and rear roll bars
Stock front control arms
Stock PASM springs/shocks
Stock Airbox
There are probably a few other things that I am forgetting but those are the big items. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks again.
@Brucetoews Thanks and I hope you’re right about the upward potential. IMO, the car has all the aesthetic mods that people seem to want. Plus, you no longer have to worry about the typical 997 motor issues such as IMS, bore scoring, D-chunk or rod bolt failures. AND it's a riot to drive.
I am happy to provide the dyno plot and DME to serious buyers. If interested in information not already published, please send me a private message.
The car looks great and has a lot of upwards potential on the bidding, but I would like to see the dyno results. I realize i am new, but some facts around this along with DME would peak my interest.

My car weights 2850 lbs.
Yeah, I like normally aspirated. My 3/98 has been tuned , fab speed headers, exhaust, panel kn but is only at most 320. Due to small size fun doesn’t till 5,000 rpm. I had an 2004 VW R32 with HPA twin turbos and that was a monster 655 hp on 112.
@luis.seneriz the car has not been dyno'd with the current mods. My guess is 420-430hp at the crank.
Focusing on peak power numbers is missing the point of this car. If you're looking for peak power, a modded turbo can't be beat. Of course, a turbo weighs hundreds of pounds more as well.
The uniqueness of this motor is HOW it delivers power. The grunt and responsiveness really gives the car an attitude befitting of a bully, beast, outlaw that is unlike any other Carrera, gt3 or turbo.
Any hp , torque figures?? I’m i retested in it.

@Joesgarage I appreciate it and hope the next owner shares your enthusiasm. I cannot take all the credit for the build. The previous owner added the exterior mods and I did all the performance mods. I like to think that we both were careful with our decisions and the result speaks for itself.
What a great build, awesome build, if I were going to personalize a 997, this would be it!
I would love to be the caretaker of this fine example. I need to work harder...dream car.
GLWS.
It dyno'd around 330hp at the wheels on 91 octane with the stock intake and exhaust. However, the bottleneck was the stock cats and the headers. That is, the bigger motor could not breath without proportionate increases in the intake and exhaust. Adding the x-pipe, headers, and intake each brought very noticeable increases in power, responsiveness and sound. The bottleneck now is the stock intake plenum. An IPD 82mm plenum and GT3 throttle body would result in big gains at the top end. However, the car is already fast enough so there's no good reason to keep chasing gains. Thanks.
Any dyno numbers?
Hi everyone. Thanks for looking. I'm happy to answer questions about the car and the build. I'm hoping she finds a good new home here on PCARMARKET. Cheers.
