This 2009 Porsche 997.2 Targa 4S is finished in Macadamia Metallic over a Sand Beige leather interior. One of the rarest variants of the Porsche 997, the exclusively all-wheel-drive Targa model features a unique sliding glass roof system and an opening rear hatch. This 2009 example is designated as a 997.2 Launch Model and comes optioned with heated seats and steering wheel, 19” SportDesign wheels, a PDK transmission, and Bose High-End Sound Package. It was acquired by the current owner in 2022 who has since invested over $10k including the installation of paint protection film, ceramic coating, the Sport Chrono Package, Sharkwerks exhaust, BMC air filters, semi-solid motor mounts, and wheel spacers. Accompanied by all original parts and showing just over 7k miles on the odometer, this Targa 4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona.
In contrast to a standard Carrera model, the Targa 4S includes wider rear fenders and a reflective panel between the taillights as well as a chrome accent strip along the roofline. The Targa top system is comprised of a UV-resistant glass roof panel that slides beneath the opening rear hatch when retracted. This example is finished in Macadamia Metallic and rides on factory-optioned 19” SportDesign wheels. Clear paint protection film was installed over the front end under current ownership along with a full ceramic coating, window tints, license plate plugs, and 10mm/20mm wheel spacers. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were also mounted within the last year, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Sand Beige interior features a matching headliner and optional heated Power Comfort Seats with Driver Memory. Other options include self-dimming mirrors, a heated steering wheel, a Bluetooth phone interface, and Universal Audio Interface. The Targa top fully retracts in about 7 seconds with the push of a button and includes a powered sunshade for the interior. The seller notes that Sport Chrono Package software was retrofitted by an authorized dealer.
A naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine produces up to 385 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque stock, driving all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. The integrated Sport Chrono Package allows the Targa 4S to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.5 seconds. Service completed prior to the owner’s purchase in 2022 included a new battery, oil change, new power steering fluid, transmission fluid, and differential fluid. Under current ownership, this 4S has been upgraded with a Sharkwerks performance exhaust system, semi-solid motor mounts, and BMC high-flow air filters. There are no outstanding maintenance items reported at this time.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, the original window sticker, a car cover, some documentation, and a clean title.

Surprised this isn't higher so close to the bell. Only 1156 made worldwide in 2009, and 2240 997.2 Targa 4S manufactured in the 3 1/2 year span they were offered. Collector mileage and a great color combo on this rare glass-top!

Gorgeous Targa 4S! I cannot say enough about the driving experience of these 997.2 Targas. The glass top lets you feel the outdoors, while controlling the climate with the UV protected top and sun screen. When my primary driver went down last week, I had to take mine to Costco for a weekly run. The hatch works for more than golf clubs, and is a great talking point at Porsche meets.
