Designed for desert racing by engineer, artist, boat builder, and surfer, Bruce Meyers, The Manx dune buggy was originally produced from 1964 to 1971 and sold as a kit car for a shortened Volkswagen Beetle chassis. This example comes finished in Just Right Yellow over a black leather interior. It was originally built over the course of seven years by its first owner out of Texas in 2010. It was then sold to a Texas-based dealer and was subsequently acquired by its third and current owner in 2022. It features a Kick-Out fiberglass body, a dual-port 1,776cc flat-four paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle, Manxter front and rear bumpers, 15” Cragar wheels, an Alpine sound system, low-back bucket seats, and more. It is now being offered for sale out of Pennsylvania while showing 915 miles on its odometer.
This Manx features a Kick-Out fiberglass body finished in Just Right Yellow sitting atop a Volkswagen Beetle pan. The seller reports that the finish remains in excellent overall condition and has provided detailed images which can be found in the gallery. Features include Manxter front and rear bumpers, rear fender vents, dual roll hoops, twin side mirrors, Kick-Out SS surfboard badging, front and rear storage compartments, and a set of 15” Cragar wheels. The wheels come dressed in BFGoodrich front and Hankook Ventus H101 rear tires.
The cabin features a pair of front low-back bucket seats upholstered in black leather. Amenities include front-seat sliders, lap belts, a Grant GT steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, a BugPack T-handle shifter, rubber floor mats, a fire extinguisher, and an Alpine stereo system. The seller confirms that all gauges, electronics, and accessories remain functional.
Power comes from a dual-port 1,776cc flat-four-cylinder engine built by Texas Air Cooled of Houston, Texas. It features an aluminum case, a Kühltek Motorwerks camshaft, and dual Dellorto carburetors that are said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership. The rear wheels are driven by way of a Freeway Flyer 4-speed manual transaxle which is said to have been rebuilt in 2020. The suspension includes KYB Gas-a-Just dampers at all four corners, and the steering coupler was recently replaced.

if it was possible to visit a New Dune Buggy dealership - where an individual was able to purchase a brand new Dune Buggy-let alone a Meyers Manx Dune buggy- this buggy would be sitting in the showroom

everything works...as far as documentation...can't say I do...I purchased it from the dealer that purchased it from the original builder....there will be no surprises when it arrives at the new buyers location...Start it, run it and drive it...fun -fun-fun-

What is it registered as..year and tile? Much easier to register these in Ca if they are using the original VW chassis as registration. Certainly a lovely buggy..
