Debuted at the 2008 Los Angeles International Auto Show, the updated 987.2 Boxster model featured a new flat-six engine with greater displacement along with refined styling and newer technologies. This 2010 example comes finished in Black over a matching interior and is optioned with a 6-speed manual transmission, the Sound Package Plus, automatic climate control, heated front seats, Bluetooth connectivity, and 18” Boxster S II wheels with colored Porsche crests. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York with just under 25k miles on the odometer.
The revised 987.2 model included larger front air intakes with integrated daytime running lights as well as new headlamps and taillight assemblies. This Boxster is finished in Black with a matching convertible top and optional 18” Boxster S II wheels with colored Porsche center crests and a set of Hankook Ventus V12 tires. The seller adds that a full ceramic coating was applied approximately three years ago. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.
The Black standard leather interior is appointed with heated seats, automatic climate control, a storage box, and the Sound Package Plus along with a Bluetooth and Universal Audio Interface. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
A mid-mounted 2.9-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 252 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The Boxster accelerates from 0-60 MPH in less than 6 seconds onto a top speed of over 160 MPH. The seller adds that this car has been serviced yearly by the specialists at Quality Foreign Car Care, along with oil & brake fluid changes if necessary every October before being stored for the winter months.
This sale will include a clean title and a CARFAX report indicating a Lemon Law/Buyback in 2012 and 2013.
The seller would like you to know: “I purchased the vehicle in 2013 as a retirement gift to myself. My wife and I have enjoyed driving in the Adirondacks for the past 10 years but now looking to sell it to someone who loves a Porsche as much as we do. During the time of ownership, the only repair needed was replacing an oil sensor. Other than that the vehicle has been maintenance-free.”

Sold for $20,000
Offer in the amount of $19,000
I’m certain I can get the records from Quality. Since purchasing the vehicle in 2013 I’ve averaged driving the vehicle less than 2K miles each year (more when first purchased and less in later years). Every October I have the oil changed, brake fluid changed twice and oil sensor replaced a few years ago. I also had them replace the rocker switch that opens the trunk.
@tmd3 The CarFax shows zero service performed on this vehicle since 2013....no oil changes, no belt replacements, no filter changes, nothing. You mention service at Quality Foriegn Car Care. Do you have, or can you get from their records a history of said service?
There is no mention of salvage. The only thing on title is what I mentioned- returned to manufacturer because it did not conform to warranty
Is it noted as “salvage”?
There is a notation stating “this vehicle was returned to manufacturer because it did not conform to the warranty.”
How is the Buy back noted on the Title?
Unfortunately it does show on the title
Is there anything mentioned on the title regarding lemon/buyback?
I’m not sure what you mean by front clip? I had ceramic coating added to the entire outside of vehicle.
any ppf on the front clip?

Bid in the amount of $16,500
Bid in the amount of $16,029
@OutOfControl There is no stain in trunk. What shows was pro from my golf shoes which has now been cleaned
@Pcar-slaughter13 I can keep the car as long as you want. It will be covered in my garage. Cover goes with car
On the leak concern, what is the story of the staining in the front trunk in the left side?
Also, during your ownership, what maintenance has been performed, at what interval, and by whom?
Bid in the amount of $15,600
I am in Florida, how long can you keep the car before I get transportation?
I have shipped in the past and sometimes it takes a while after I have booked it for them to get to be coming your way.
Bid in the amount of $14,000
Bid in the amount of $12,000
@marmoset I have never had any leaks with the vehicle. I only hand wash with a hose and have never had any leaks. Thanks
@Pcar-slaughter13 There are no tears or rips in either seat
Have you had any issues with the roof leaking? That seems to be what the lemon law by back was all about.
Is there a tear in the passenger seat?
Anytime is fine. This is my first time using auction which is showing ending in 17 hours. I can be available anytime as long as I know when you’re visiting. Thanks
@tmd3 I'd like to come up this weekend does that work for you?
Bid in the amount of $10,000
You’re welcome anytime. Just let me know day and approximate time.
I am interested in the car and live about 3 hours away. I'd like to come look at it.
Does that work?
When I purchased the car in 2010 I was told original owner fought with Porsche and was eventually successful in getting them to buy back the vehicle. Not sure why it shows twice
Baffling CARFAX (at least for me) especially the SECOND buyback.
I do not have service records from previous owner. I have all services performed by Quality Foreign Car Care which is the only place the vehicle has been serviced. Thank you
Do you have all the service records from your ownership period? What about from the first owner?
The information I have was that the original owner fought with the dealer over a problem that mechanics could not duplicate. I was told owner was successful in returning the car to Porsche because issue wasn’t resolved in a specific amount of time. I’ve had the car for 10 years without any issues other than oil sensor as mentioned in ad.
What can you tell us about the two times it was taken back by Porsche under the lemon law. Not once but twice? There has to be some documentation regarding the corrections that were made.
