Now up for auction is this 2010 Porsche Cayenne S Transsyberia finished in Black over a black leather and Alcantara interior.  In commemoration of Porsche’s victories at the Transsyberia Rallies, a special Cayenne S “Transsyberia” edition was created with only 285 examples built in total out of an originally planned production run of 600. These special editions come with factory-applied graphics, protective off-road skid plates, PASM air suspension, and a 4.8L V8 engine borrowed from the Cayenne GTS.  This particular example sports unique Meteor Grey Metallic accents as well as optional Variable Assist Power Steering, Bi-Xenon headlamps, heated seats, the Light Comfort Package, a rearview camera with ParkAssist, and the Bose Surround Sound System.  Sold new in Idaho where it remained up until 2019, this Cayenne S Transsyberia is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California with approximately 118k miles showing on the odometer.

This Cayenne S comes finished in Black with Meteor Grey Metallic accents, among the rarest of the four exclusive color combinations offered.  Contrasting details include the mirror housings, extended bi-plane roof spoiler, front grille inserts, model designation graphics, and painted 18” Cayenne S wheels.  An optional trailer hitch is fitted while stainless steel front and rear skid plates are equipped as standard.  Minor rear-end damage was reported on CARFAX in 2016 and the seller notes the tailgate has been refinished.  Some minor signs of road-going wear are also present throughout the exterior, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with the full CARFAX report.  The factory wheels come mounted with BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires.

Inside, this Cayenne S sports black leather and Alcantara upholstery with contrasting trim and seatbelts.  Optional equipment includes a sunroof, rollup sunscreens for the rear windows, a rearview camera with ParkAssist, the Bose Surround Sound System, heated front seats, and the Light Comfort Package with memory.  Sport Seats with Alcantara inserts come standard on the Transsyberia and a complete list of factory options is provided below:

  • 0PC      Side Strips w/Modl Designation
  • 1D6     Trailer Hitch w/o Hitch Ball
  • 1N3     Variable Assist Power Steering

  • PK3      Heated Front Seats
  • PO4     Light Comfort Package/Memory
  • QV4     XM Satellite Radio
  • TR        Std Black Interior w/Alcantara
  • UF1      Universal Audio Interface

This Cayenne S is equipped with a naturally-aspirated 4.8L V8 engine derived from the GTS model, which offers an output of up to 405 HP and 369 lb.-ft of torque.  All four wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission which can also be shifted manually using the gear selector or steering wheel buttons.  This special edition comes standard with PASM air suspension as well as a lower 4.11:1 final drive ratio for improved off-road performance.  A long history of maintenance is provided on the CARFAX report including several services within the last year.  The seller confirms that a full service will also be carried out prior to the sale for the next owner.

This sale will include the original owner's manuals, spare tire, tools, and a clean title.  Perhaps the most collectible Cayenne of all, this incredibly rare Black and Meteor Grey Transsyberia edition presents an opportunity that is not to be missed.

@L8KTRSH It's on most Cayennes of this era, it's a folded up bag in the rear armrest passthrough to keep your skis from getting everything inside the car dirty. If you open it up though you can expect to spend a fair amount of time trying to get it back into its very small bag.

New to the Transsyberia, what is the option 3X1 Ski Bag?

  • spartansix (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

    @lefcz26657 Wish they'd selected that option, the light bar is part 955 801 153 00 and it's $3100!

Seller: Regarding your comment about 15 mins ago, The roof does seem to have the slots used for roof racks/ transport systems. Correct?
Also, option was either moon roof or Hella light rack (not both). Mine came with the moon roof. I installed a Hella rack afterwards.

Hello all, the car does not have roof rails and is ready for a rack. It also does not have the locking diff. Good luck down the home stretch and thanks for the bids and comments.

@peterjjohnson based on my research by pulling the VIN, it doesn’t have the locker.

  • peterjjohnson (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@RRM26 can you confirm whether this has locking diffs, and if so, whether they are functional? I can't tell from the photos or the VIN build sheet. Many thanks.

Doesn’t seem to have roof rails for a transport system, are they integrated or missing?

  • ECV (registered bidder) 2 years, 3 monthsago

@JoeLA - Locking rear diff was an option for the Transsyberia. From what I can tell, this one does not have it.

@Acurry Very cool, haven't seen a non-Black/Orange one for sale before!
    run the VIN.

  • Acurry (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

On photos 71 and 72, why is the option tag peeled off? Is there any other way to verify that this is a true Transsyberia?

  • mark1one 2 years, 4 monthsago

    STICKERS… Collectability ?
    Its a 4x4 with 120K
Drive it and enjoy every minute of it …
It’s a truck that is meant to be DRIVEN and enjoyed ..
My Techart Cayenne Turbo loves the beach and my fishing rods on its roof ..
The Smithsonian is in Washington DC and last time I was there.. I didn’t see any Porsche’s hanging from the ceilings.. Porsche made these BEASTS with 4 Wheel Drive for a reason…
Happy Holidays to all …I will be watching this one
Best to all on this auction!

Nice Cayenne. Didn't Transsyberia's have locking rear differentials? Or was that an option?

  • MadeInStuttgart (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@JimHawkins Thanks Jim, although my point is that this CST may have come from the factory without decals (some were indeed spec’d this way from the factory) and a subsequent owner applied them to the car as a matter of personal taste.

Great looking truck, love seeing one in black that isn’t orange for a change.

  • JimHawkins (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@MadeInStuttgart I'm going to disagree. Although I think you have a point, the last few sentences in the listing are all about collectibility, which is where concerns like this start to matter. We're not telling the owner that their sticker-applying skills are poor, we're saying "collectible cars would have come from the factory with the stickers, and if applied later, they should have been placed more correctly."
All that having been said, I do kind of like the location of the stickers, and might not like them if they were lower. Right rear looks askew. I love that it has a tow hitch. I will be watching this one closely. I just wish it had fewer miles. It lived in Idaho, pulling a trailer for 9 years and almost 120k miles, so enthusiasm is moderate, otherwise it is a great looking Cayenne.

  • MadeInStuttgart (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@bluemonkey My Transsyberia came from the factory without side panel decals. I purchased some from a vendor in the UK and installed them myself as I prefer the decals on a CST. It is possible that this is the case with this car and should not be of concern to any bidder.

My suggestion is to simply enjoy seeing one of these on the market, as they very rarely are, rather than being overly critical of someone’s car. Happy bidding!

  • bluemonkey (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

It looks like the decals are aftermarket placed in wrong position, almost 2 inches too high. Also the wheels and side mirrors do not seems to be in factory-correct color, both should be in same meteor gray metallic.

  • RRM26 (seller) 2 years, 4 monthsago

@mikelaca Yes it is available for showing in Cost Mesa. Please private message me.

I live in OC. Is this car available for viewing?
