The fourth generation of the BMW M3 was the first and only model equipped with a V8 engine: the S65B40 generated 414 HP with an 8400-RPM redline. This 2011 M3 Competition is finished in Le Mans Blue over an Anthracite Speed Cloth interior, and was optioned with a single-hump dashboard (no iDrive or navigation), no sunroof, the Competition Package, Electronic Damper Control (EDC), and a 7-speed M Twin-Clutch transmission. This example was acquired by the seller in February of 2015 and has since received careful maintenance that includes regular oil changes, a Blackstone oil analysis, brake and differential fluid exchanges, refinished wheels, and new tires. Showing just under 38k miles on the odometer, this E92 is now being offered at auction by its seller in Texas.

This M3 was ordered in Le Mans Blue (381) accented by a carbon-fiber roof panel and high-gloss black Shadowline trim. The finish is said to be in very good condition, having received a recent three-stage paint correction and Kenzo ceramic coating in March of 2022. The seller notes some stone chips on the front end, some road rash under the front bumper, and a hairline scratch on the driver’s side. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, as well as a clean CARFAX report. Compared to a standard E92 3-Series Coupe, the M3 features front fender vents with integrated LED turn signals, more aggressive bumpers and side skirts, an aluminum power dome hood, quad exhaust tips, and a rear decklid spoiler. The 19-inch Style 359 wheels are equipped with the Competition Package and are mounted in brand-new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S4 all-season tires.

The interior features manually-adjustable sport seats trimmed in Black Novillo leather with Anthracite Speed Cloth inserts, a single-hump dashboard without iDrive instrumentation on the center console, a leather-wrapped 3-spoke M-Sport multifunction steering wheel, an Anthracite headliner, M3 aluminum door sills, and Titan Shadow interior trim. Amenities include the optional rear power sunshade, automatic climate control, adaptive xenon headlamps, and a Hi-Fi sound system.

The E92 M3 is equipped with a 4.0L S65 V8 featuring individual throttle bodies, double VANOS variable valve timing, and an 8400 RPM redline. It was factory rated at 414 HP and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a limited-slip differential. The Competition Package adds revised springs with a ride height that is 10mm lower, a remapped Electronic Dampening Control system, and a package-specific returned Dynamic Stability Control system that allows for a higher slip threshold. The CARFAX report shows a consistent history of maintenance, including regular fluid changes, new filters, 4 new tires, an alignment, a Blackstone Laboratories oil analysis, and a 4-wheel alignment.

This sale will include a clean title, two keys, service records, and owner's manuals.

Woof... Beautiful ride but that's a lot of money. I enjoyed by 2012. Higher mileage blue stick car. The motor loves to rev.

  • Bmerlots (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

@E92M3ZCP yeah proper lighting that shows the clear coat condition would go along way. Gas station lighting might help. I would record a small walk around video as well in that lighting. ??

@Bmerlots I'll try to get you a better picture now that the sun is out. Unfortunately, it was cloudy day the photos were taken.

  • Bmerlots (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Do you happen to have any better pictures of the car that would show the condition of the paint. Unfortunately almost every picture taken here makes the condition of the paint look dull.

@Bmerlots No. That would involve wet sanding. This was a three step polishing process.

  • Bmerlots (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

I noticed it says there was a 3 stage color correction done to the vehicle. What i’m wondering is if they have knocked down the factory orange peel in this process?

@Quackbury No, the rod bearings have not been replaced. Have been careful to avoid factors that can contribute to premature bearing failure.

  • Quackbury (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Forgot to ask about the crankshaft bearings. Have they been replaced?

  • Quackbury (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Beautiful car, stunning photography and presentation. The Speedcloth is particularly distinctive.

Worth noting that the manuallly adjustable seats paired with the slick top means that even a tall driver wearing a helmet can find a comfortable driving position. If the next owner wants to participate in HPDE's that is a nice benefit. GLWA.
