Available for auction is this 2012 Ferrari 458 Italia finished in Nero Daytona over a two-tone black and red leather interior. Succeeding the F430, the Ferrari 458 made its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show featuring an entirely new design that incorporated technologies derived from Ferrari’s Formula One program. This example was acquired by the seller in 2018 and features an array of high-end upgrades including carbon-fiber exterior trim, 20” Vossen wheels, and an Openflash Performance ECU chip. This 458 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Utah while showing approximately 32k miles on the odometer.

This example comes finished in Nero Daytona and features an added carbon fiber rear wing, front splitter, and side skirts along with a set of 20” Vossen wheels finished in red. The wheels are dressed in a set of Pirelli P Zero tires from 2016 and the exterior of the car has been treated with a ceramic coating, detailed images can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The seats are upholstered in black leather with red inserts, contrasting red stitching, and debossed prancing horse logos on the headrests. The cockpit of the 458 was designed with the help of racing driver Micheal Schumacher, and the leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel incorporates LED shift indicator lights, a red engine-start button, and a Manettino drive mode selector. Additional features include carbon-fiber trim, a navigation system, a CD stereo, and automatic climate control.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 4.5-liter F136 V8, which produces up to 560 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque stock. This example features an Openflash Performance ECU chip which can be controlled using an accompanying tablet. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and E-Diff electronic limited-slip differential. The suspension uses advanced magnetorheological dampers and stopping is provided by fade-resistant carbon-ceramic brakes at all four corners. The CARFAX report includes 20 service entries dating as far back as 2012, and a recall for the replacement of the brake oil reservoir carried out in March of 2022.

This sale will include a clean title (lien). The CARFAX report shows 9 prior owners, although the seller states the car has belonged to 5 true owners since new.

    @Luft78 Thanks!
And like I said, feel free to message me directly and I will share with you more info on the seats, rims, etc. if it’s important to you.

@WJ458 I apologize I’m not trying to keep finding negatives, but I do have an issue with you saying you can get clean condition 458 seats for that price. By the way I never commented in the last bat auction. I will leave this alone , buyers can make their own decisions. Good luck with the sale

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Luft78 Why are you still commenting on this feed? I thought you said you were done and won’t be bidding? Smh

You are trying your hardest to discourage potential buyers, just like you did on the other platform.

You already had one of your comments deleted by pcarmarket because of your negative none productive comments!

To all the potential serious buyers, please ignore Luft78.

Luft78 feel free to message me directly and I will share with you the Ferrari seats I found that are in very good shape for $3000! You seem to be infatuated about the seats, so send me a message, so I can get you all squared up buddy!

The site won’t allow me to post the url.

  • Luft78 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

So the bank made a mistake and titled it in their name instead of the owners name ? I have never heard of this. The seller keeps quoting $3000 seats, you can’t buy clean 458 seats for $3,000.

@Tarek307 70% isopropyl and a microfiber worked just fine on a friends' 458. Wasn't shiny, just a matte plastic finish. I am not sure what the outcome would be if you used something else (others have suggested Goo Gone, WD-40, various cleaning products, etc), but those were our results with the alcohol process.

If you simply must have the rubbery feel, then by all means, spend the $4-5k to have them re-done. It's a cheap plastic switch, so just depends on how much the raw matte plastic finish bothers you.

  • Tarek307 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@wthies not on a 458, that works on the 360 and the 355 like magic, but on the 458 the coating is a bit different and leaves a weird shine as opposed to the 360/355 .

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

FYI: Here are a few links you can check out to bring a 458 back to stock if you don’t like some of the modifications.

    1 – Ferrari Rims ($3000) Good Condition

    2 – Seat options ($3000) or ($3500) (Good Condition)

    3 – Ferrari 458 Carbon AC unit panel ($500)

4 – Another option for a sticky panel is to have it refinished for about 4k.

Or you can clean the panel with some special solution. I have seen a few people use this method and it seems to work and can save you a lot of money. I never had an issue with it, so that’s why I never bothered to look into it more.

Watch this video and skip to the 7:40 mark. Pretty interesting. And it looks like it works!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijmJUFwwyt8

FYI: I was trying to send the links on this comment, but the site won't let me send some of them. So, if you are interested in seeing the Ferrari Rims, Seats and panel cover, then just send me a private message.

Note: These are just options that potential buyers can look at.
Of course, if you don’t mind some of the mods, then you can just enjoy the fun ride.

  • wthies (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Luft78 anyone who pays $4500 to fix sticky buttons is out of their mind.

15 mins with a microfiber and some isopropyl alcohol and the buttons will be as good as new.

This car is a great deal for the right person. Stickies, wheels, and intake manifold are easily rectified (figure about $5-6k for all of those bits). Seats might take a little more work to find new leathers or reupholster, but the discount on the entry price might still make it a worthwhile endeavor.

    @WJ458 - I’m in California

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@mariodesmo Car is in my name. But my bank listed themselves as an owner and not a lien holder by mistake.

Car is being stored at EuroSports.
    Are you local?

  • mariodesmo (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Is the car in your possession or is it at Eurosports? Eurosports shows it in their inventory.
Is the car registered in your name?

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Tarek307 I will let you know on the sticky panel.
They will call me tomorrow with pricing.

As far as the title goes, my bank will release digital title as soon as they receive payment.

    Thx

  • Tarek307 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@WJ458 so you will be getting the sticky buttons done? Also just noticed there is a lien on the car, what is the plan for payoff if it sells? The title will not goto the buyer, it will end up going to the seller once its cleared through the bank then DMV and the buyer has to wait and trust the seller to send the title over - Thats usually how it works, unless you have a bank that you can walk into and they hand you the title at payoff (very rare that this happens, i think maybe some credit unions)

  • VOKS7780 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@WJ458 I appreciate that thank you.

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@VOKS7780 Thanks for the info. I will for sure keep them in mind.
I also have another company that supposable charges a fraction of what others are charging to fix this issue. I just tried calling them to confirm, but they are closed. I will keep you posted. Here is the site for reference. https://stickyrxrs.com/

  • PCARMARKET 1 year, 5 monthsago

Folks the questions have been asked and answered. In fairness to all we are going to moderate out repetitive comments about the wheels and seats. Seller, we ask that you be mindful about making promises to reupholster seats as your evaluations may be a bit off, and you could be in for a surprise. We advised all of the bidders to factor in whatever cost they see fit and bid accordingly. Let’s put aside the banter and have a fun auction. Thank you all !

  • VOKS7780 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Luft78 I just called them up and the exact quote was $4520 to do everything but that does not include disassembly and reinstallation and I'm sure if you take it to a shop they'll charge you another $500-$1000 for labor. Bill sure seems to be adding up.

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

    @Luft78 Thanks for your input.
I hope you feel better now that you got that off your shoulders.
The car is not perfect, but it runs great with no major issues.
I just had the service work done and everything was fine.
    Have a Good Day Sir!

  • Luft78 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@voks7780 probably around $4,000 to do the sticky buttons at sticky RX here. This car definitely has sticky buttons, you can clearly see it in pics 42-49 hair and dust particles on the buttons.

@WJ458 how could you say it doesn’t have this issue ? So the wheels , no issue, the cheap looking leather grain on the seats “no issue seats are only $2,000 lol” the flava flave wheels “no issue “ old tires “no issue” strange idle at startup “no issue”

You need to stop brushing off all these issues, because they are, this seems like a “Florida Man’s” car .. You should have 100% taken the money on bat and ran when the market was hot. I was going to bid but this attitude of brushing aside every issue gives a good idea of how this poor 458 was treated, as if the tacky mods weren’t enough. I’m out!

  • VOKS7780 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@WJ458 It's not sticky as they stick and don't work. It's sticky as in tacky and the paint or the soft clear coat will stick on your fingers. I can already tell by looking at the AC / Heat controller that the soft clear coat is scratched and peeling off, this is a sign of sticky buttons especially during hot summer days. I would highly suggest you get a quote from https://stickynomore.com/ and let us know. This is very common in a lot of European cars.

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@VOKS7780 Never had any issues with sticky buttons.
    They all work fine.
    Thx

  • VOKS7780 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Have you ever gotten a quote to repair the sticky buttons? Last time I had this fixed on my Ferrari 575 was over $3000. With the inflation god knows how much more expensive it is now?

@WJ458 yes i guess its possible the tune does this. As for the paint, you still have 4 days to get paint meter readings, very simple, you can easily get a paint meter from amazon next day delivery. Looking forward to seeing some readings-

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Tarek307 I’m pretty sure it’s the open flash tuner that’s making it sound like that. I have owned this 458 for over 3 years and haven’t had any engine issues whatsoever.

As far as the paint meter goes, I will see if I can find one. I do have a Ceramic Coat on it, for paint protect.

  • Tarek307 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Also can we have paint meter readings posted, thanks

unfortunately no edit option here to add to comments so need to just write another.

  • Tarek307 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Regarding the cold start video after the 3rd second the car seems to sort of fluctuate idle a bit like almost shutting off, is this correct or is it just the video sounding like this? I owned a 458 for over a year and put 11k miles on it, and the cold start sounded different- First when you start it flares up but then settles down steady not up down like the sound in this video.

  • Tarek307 1 year, 5 monthsago

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

    @Tarek307 Hello Tarek307,
    Thanks for reaching out.

I just uploaded the undercarriage photos.
I never seen a reason to pull the protection plastic off and take pictures. I'm sure it can be done if needed. But the undercarriage protection cover looks pretty decent.

No issues with the dash leather. It looks great!

    I don't have the owner's manual.

And I recently had an oil change/service work done.
No issues with the car or engine.
It runs great and sounds like a champ!

    Thanks...

  • Tarek307 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@seller is it me or are there no pictures of the undercarriage of the car? pretty important to see pics of the undercarriage with and without the plastic covers.

Is there any leather dash pulling, when you look at the front windshield from outside the car looking onto the dash & binnacle how does it look?

do you have the owners manuals and leather booklet? didn't see that in the pics.

Has there been any sort of inspection or scan of the engine management system recent to it being listed?

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Luft78 Once again, thanks for your input.

No issues with the tune causing engine lights to appear.
Open flash Performance Computer Chip is what's installed.
It can be uninstalled within 10 min.

Seats can be reupholstered for a few thousands bucks.
You can dip the rims for under 2k as well.
The intake was painted to match the rims.
It can be repainted as well.
Car is being sold as is!
You either like it or you don't.
Or you can change it to fit your needs.

I ask you to please not turn this comment section into a BAT negative bashing platform.
Some car buyers are fine with what they see and some aren't. I get it! Professionalism is always welcomed.

Feel free to message me directly if you really want to talk about options for item replacements to fit your needs.

    Thanks again for your input.

  • Luft78 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Used seats for a 458 are not $2,000 lol, maybe destroyed ones out of a salvage flood car like the pair on bat now, but good condition ones are at least $5,000-$8,000 same as the wheels which you said were also $2,000 the 5 star wheels are $5k minimal . The plenum intakes which are painted a strange maroon red to paint would need to be disassembled , stripped and painted correct color and texture . All this adds up.

Plus no information about the tune on the car, does it effect smog ? Any issues or check engine lights from that tune?

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

    @Luft78 Thanks for your input.

The seats are very comfortable and they look good in person.
Yes, I would replace the seats if you end up hitting the reserve.
I just did an eBay search and you can literally get a nice used set for 2k.

The rims is a love / hate thing for sure. No need to keep bashing them. It's a very easy fix, especially if you have the means to actually buy a Ferrari 458.
I can get them dipped in another color for $400 per rim.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Thx

  • Luft78 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

I am so tempted to bid here , aside from the hideous wheels, wrong red color intakes and spoiler which can be remedied for around $10k my biggest issue is the seats, the leather used to reupholster seems like cheap leather, another commenter in the failed bat auction mentioned it looked like Chevy leather , photo 52 and 51 here it looks like the leather is of a totally different quality than what you’d see a Ferrari reupholstered in.

Would the seller be open to reupholstering the seats if this hits reserve?

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

    @Luft78 No, it’s not drilled.

  • Luft78 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

Was the spoiler drilled into the body work?

  • Luft78 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

The wheels and seats held this back last time on bat , This is a nice driver, I was following the auction on bat in august, but it didn’t sell and ended at $164,000 , hopefully seller has a realistic reserve this time , market was much stronger then.

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

@Nycexec212 Yeah it's a love or hate thing for sure.
The good news is, it's an easy fix!
You can find some basic stock rims on eBay for under 2k.

  • Nycexec212 (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

those wheels are tough to look at...

  • WJ458 (seller) 1 year, 5 monthsago

    @GrpNorCalBMWguy @Grp5CSLxPTGgts
    Hello,
I don't have the original rims. However, I did see some on eBay for under 2k.
I have the stock floor mats and another aftermarket set as well.
I also have copies of the service work that I will upload shortly.
    Thanks

  • GrpNorCalBMWguy (registered bidder) 1 year, 5 monthsago

    Nice car,
Do you have the original wheels still?
    Any other take off parts?
    Copies of major services?
