The flagship model within the Mercedes-Benz S-Class lineup during its production from 2006 to 2013, the W221 S65 AMG offers a robust 6.0-liter V12 engine paired with several luxurious amenities. This 2012 example is finished in Iridium Silver Metallic over a gray leather interior and features Parktronic, soft-close doors, Keyless-Go, Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control, a backup camera, COMAND with navigation, and more. This 2012 S65 AMG is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania showing approximately 36k miles on the odometer.
Finished in Iridium Silver Metallic with chrome accents around the windows, door handles, grille, and rear fascia, this S65 features the AMG Styling Package which equips a revised front spoiler and side skirts. It rides on 20″ five-spoke AMG wheels wrapped in Cooper tires. Additional equipment includes bi-xenon headlights, soft-close doors, a power-operated trunk lid, quad exhaust outlets, and auto-dimming side-view mirrors with integrated signal lighting. The CARFAX report lists minor damage to the front of the car taking place in November of 2023. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the cabin is upholstered in gray leather and features heated and ventilated dynamic multi-contour 14-way power-adjustable front seats. Equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control, Keyless-Go, a wood and leather-trimmed four-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a backup camera, and COMAND infotainment with navigation. Options include a Bang & Olufsen sound system, and rear entertainment screens as well as heated and ventilated multi-contour power-adjustable outboard rear seats with memory settings.
Powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter M275 V12, the S65 AMG sends up to 621 HP and 738 lb.-ft. of torque to the rear wheels by way of a five-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in as little as 4.2 seconds with an electronically governed top speed of 186 MPH. Performance features include AMG-tuned Active Body Control (ABC) electronically adjustable suspension, and twin-sliding AMG-branded calipers over four-wheel vented disc brakes. The seller reports that the front brake pads and rotors were replaced in January 2021, while the battery, fuel pump, and fuel filter were replaced in 2022 and an oil change was performed in January 2024.

After many years of premium luxury cars (BMW, Jag, S-Class, Audi, Lexus, Bentley, Rolls, etc) we bought the brother to this S65, a S600. It is the most satisfying car we've ever owned. Does everything the others did, but a little bit better. ...and this one has a 100 extra horsepower. Whoa. GLWTA. BTW, a few years ago I spotted a low-mile mint W12 VW Phaeton w/the 4-seater option at a Nissan dealership. The original owner had several cars and when he retired & sold his business, gave the Phaeton to his grandson who promptly traded it for a new Maxima. Go figure. BTW, I bought it immediately; it too was a super car.
