I have the same car, actually selling the same car right now on another site. I can say this car is definitely worth $20K I think the issue may be some of the people that want it don't live close to the east coast of north america, and then factor in being in the USA, it adds a lot to the price. But if you are Canadian, this is such a steal at $20k.

I'm the lucky owner of a Goodwood 1/1000 myself, and let me tell you, all those beautiful photos and videos don't capture the sublime essence of this car: the fragrance that emanates from the finest leathers, which makes the cabin so luxurious. Feeling like a million bucks in there. A true daily delight. Lively. Nimble. Very easy to park anywhere. I can guarantee that its new owner will be extremely happy with his acquisition. Trying to convince the Lady in the house We should buy this for our Favorite ( and only ) grand daughter starting University this week!

Additional interior pictures post professional detailing just added.

Also BMW compliance letter added to gallery stating absence of recalls.

Brakes are new on all 4 corners.

Curb weight is mentioned on VIN sticker (pic#62)

Transmission shifts perfectly in a timely manner with no hesitation or jerking, up and down the gears.

Everything is operational. This Goodwood was maintained with no regard to cost by an extremely attentive single owner (with means).

For all the other inquiries, (tires threads, tires dates, type of tires) i will report back with exact answers.

Best of luck everybody in the last stretch

  • fitzpatrick (registered bidder) 8 months, 1 weekago

Clarification: it was necessary for Mini USA to confirm no outstanding recalls before issuing the letter of compliance. Once their system was updated, the letter was issued promptly.

    Sharing my experience if helpful:

I bought the last one sold here on Pcarmarket and recently received it in the United States. Import was relatively easy (via an experienced broker), but I have yet to register it (waiting on US DOT to provide a certified form from the border crossing; expect a 2-week delay on this).

Transport from Montreal to the west coast took 7 days door to door via TFX (transport). If there were any hiccups at the border, I wasn't aware -- it seems to have gone quickly and smoothly.

The seller here says there are no outstanding recalls, which is good. My car's shipment was slightly delayed while Mini USA waited for their system to reflect the completion of an outstanding recall. Not a big deal, and the Mini USA rep seems to have been responsive.

I haven't yet registered in CA so I can't speak to that process, but the conforming badge shown in photo 64 hopefully handles that. I changed the digital speedometer over to MPH via the settings menu -- it took about 30 seconds (also C --> F).

@KeithDSimon There is no evidence of repaints on any of the panels on this Goodwood.

    Thank you for your interest.

  • KeithDSimon (registered bidder) 8 months, 1 weekago

Your paint readings are higher than other Goodwoods, has the car been repainted, or additional clear coat?
    Thanks

  • KeithDSimon (registered bidder) 8 months, 1 weekago

Is everything functional and operating properly? Is the transmission stable when jumping on the throttle and down shifting automatically? Can you show pics of the dirty spots once they get cleaned pics #38 & 48.
    Brake pad remaining
Tire tread remains and date on the tires
    Thanks

From the detail you have provided in the YouTube video, it is easy to see why this car is in such immaculate shape. If you would be so kind to answer a few more questions.

Do you know the curb weight?

How is the car in the snow? Do you have a separate set of snow tires on rims? How many miles were driven on the current set of tires and are they summer tires or all season?

I’m interested in the trunk space so-to-speak. If not too much trouble, can you put the backseats down and provide the interior measurements for the cargo space? Also, if the rear seats collapse independently, please fold one seat down and take the measurement between the upright seat and the door. I assume this is not a 60-40 deal, just 50-50. If 60-40, can you measure the distance available when the 60 seat is collapsed between the door and the upright 40 seat?

    Thanks an awful lot. Paul.

@KeithDSimon I went to take a closer look, and it is dirt. They are less visible in person but when under the spotlight they show in the the pictures(The joys of light colored interior). I will be going through the whole interior with the leather cleaning products i use and take updated pictures and videos post cleaning.

Also the underside/maintenance file pictures will be posted today(if Pcar staff is available on a sunday) or tomorrow the latest as well the interior pics and cold start video.

Thank you for pointing those flaws out.

    Stay tuned

Thanks Mowog and Miniac for explaining. Pics 38,48 show darkness on left door and left interior back seat panel. Is this shadow line or discolor of some kind?
Will you have pics of undercarriage and videos of cold start?

@mowog Thank you, i think i know who you are-;)

  • MINIAC (seller) 8 months, 2 weeksago

@KeithDSimon All the Goodwood MINIs bear the 1 of 1000 plate as total production was limited to 1000 examples. These cars were not affected with a specific number to reflect their serial number within the 1000 cars.

Of those 1000, 140 came to the US and 30 made their way to Canada. This Goodwood is one of those 30.

Of course fewer are known to still exist as cars don’t breed but they tend to perish. So that makes this one 1 of less than a 1000.

This one according to a registry created by the administrator of a Goodwood facebook group is number 570/1000

MINI did supply a keychain with the specific production number of every car etched on it but nothing to have on the car itself.

  • mowog 8 months, 2 weeksago

@KeithDSimon They all have this 1 of 1000 plate. MINI did not issue build numbers for these cars. This car is around build number 570. Built the 5th Month 2012

  • KeithDSimon (registered bidder) 8 months, 2 weeksago

    picture #77 shows “1 of 1000”.
I have seen two other serial numbered cars that have the same plate. Why do the 3 different cars have the same plate, what does “1 of 1000” represent?
    Thanks.

  • MINIAC (seller) 8 months, 2 weeksago

@Artdeckco I am also 6 foot and i fit very comfortably.

MINIs are more spacious inside than what one would think.

You can contact me in private anytime to ask more questions. I also like to know my seller before knowing the car.

Hope to see you at the finish line.

@Artdeckco I think you are talking about this one:
    https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/2012-mini-cooper-hardtop-s/
It is a different car, compare serial numbers.

Here is your second chance to own one.

    Cheers

Déjà vu all over again. I recall this car selling for $18,900 on or about July 3 of this year with 2000 miles lass. If you are willing to provide the details about why that sale fell apart apparently after delivery, I remain interested, but have grown a bit hesitant due to what I do not understand.

If you’ll recall, I am interested in giving this to my daughter and she remains excited about the car. She is 6 foot and normal weight. Can I assume this will not present a fit problem?

  • MINIAC (seller) 8 months, 2 weeksago

So here is the breakdown of the importation process:

1-Since this Goodwood is a younger than 25 years vehicle, a letter of compliance has to be requested from BMW/MINI.
The request for the letter has been sent yesterday, it usually takes 48-72 hours, so i should be getting it before auction end.
As mentioned in the listing text, the car has no outstanding recalls since it has been maintained by the dealership and any outstanding recalls have been attended in a timely manner.

2-This Goodwood has the digital speedometer in kms or in miles, so it is a non issue if the US buyer is a private party and is importing the car for personal use. If it is a dealer, it is more complicated as the importation process has to go through a registered importer and the mechanical speedometer has to be retofitted to miles/hr by a BMW dealer.

The rest of the importation is pretty standard, just like any 25 and older vehicle:

1-Import taxe (2.5%) of the declared value

2-Custom clearance fees of +/-500$

3-State inspection like for any car that is from another state.

I have done this process many times over so I will assist the buyer by connecting him/her with my customs broker who specialises in Us/Canada vehicule import/export and guiding the buyer every step of the way.

Please let me know if you have any other question.

  • MINIAC (seller) 8 months, 2 weeksago

@Jeff911 Yes, it can be imported, i will be writing a message here detailing the process as soon as i have the time. It is a pretty straight forward process. Stay tuned.

  • Jeff911 (registered bidder) 8 months, 2 weeksago

Does anyone know if this can be imported to the US and what the cost would be?

  • MINIAC (seller) 8 months, 2 weeksago

    Greetings fellow Pcar people.

Welcome to this MINI Goodwood auction.

This Goodwood has been a one owner car since new. The car was registered under the owner’s corporation when purchased new and was eventually transferred in 2017 to be under her personal name.

This Goodwood has been only serviced by the same MINI dealership that sold it new. It comes with a full binder of maintenance bills from said dealership spanning from 2013 to 2022.

I have acquired this MINI and have performed a full service/oil change and an in house inspection and everything checked out to be in perfect shape. It drives absolutely like a new car.

The smell inside is also like new.

This MINI is ready to be driven from the east coast to the west coast and anywhere in between.

Fly over and leave driving this MINI with confidence.

I will be posting as my time permits:

    1-Walk around video
2-Cold start and engine running video
    3-Undercarriage pictures
4-Picture of the binder that will accompany the car(Purchase contract, all the maintenance bills and miscellaneous documents).

Also I will be checking the auction a few times a day and will be happy to answer questions here or privately.

Hope to see you all at the finish line.
