Up for auction is this 2015 Porsche Cayman S presented in Carrara White over a black interior.  Purchased by the seller approximately two years ago from Perimeter Porsche in Atlanta, this Cayman S recently underwent a comprehensive 30k mile service and comes backed by a CPO warranty valid through October 2021.  Boasting must-have factory options along with full front-clip Xpel paint protection film, this superb 2015 example is not to be missed.

The classic Carrara White finish on this Cayman S is stated to be in excellent condition.  Shortly after purchasing the car, the seller had Xpel paint protection film professionally applied to the front fenders, mirrors, bumper and hood.  This Cayman S rides on attractive 20” Carrera Classic wheels with colored Porsche center crests.  Reported to have been kept indoors most of its life, this a truly well-presented example.

Inside, this Cayman S sports a clean black interior outfitted with some very desirable features.  The seller has noted the interior to be in fantastic shape with no modifications to speak of.  Touting an original sticker price of over $87k, this Cayman S has all the driver comforts and amenities that can be expected of a premium sports car.  Exclusive options selected for this model include:

This Cayman S is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine rated at 325 HP.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a refined PDK dual-clutch transmission allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.5 seconds.  Factory performance enhancements include the Sport Chrono package as well as a Sport Exhaust system providing for a stellar soundtrack.  The recently performed 30k mile service included fluid and filter changes as well as a full brake service.  The seller indicates that the rear tires were also replaced during this time and the front tires were replaced in February of 2019.  Backed by a CPO warranty valid up until October 2021, this Cayman S is just waiting to begin its journey with a new owner.

With its sensational mid-engine handling characteristics and responsive naturally-aspirated power, the 981 generation Cayman remains a favorite among track-goers and driving enthusiast around the world.

    @bobbrown50 No, it's stock. Look at the CPO doc picture - titled Porsche Production Specifications. It clearly says "ParkAssist (F&R) w/ Camera".

    @WRENCH.56 Sorry, no.

  • bobbrown50 3 days, 10 hoursago

    Description mentions a reversing camera but I didn't see that in a pic. Is this aftermarket? I didn't think Porsche introduced the backup camera until 2016.

    Would the seller consider a partial trade for a custom color and well optioned 993C4S 6 speed with 31.000 miles on the odo?

    @craig66 We agree that Caymans are beautiful cars, with handling that is superior given its inherent design. As I said the 4 delivers better acceleration and a broad torque curve. The stumbling block as you mention is the engine note and to my way of thinking ,having spent significant wheel time in both, the inferior NVH of the 4. I suspect in a few years the late 981's from 2015-16 will carry a price premium over the later 918's with the 4, all things being equal. Still all good cars though.

    @550bryan Not that I want to turn this into a NA6 vs Turbo4 debate but in reality the power curve is far more usable in the Turbo and one does not need to get all the way to 6K RPMS to feel the engine come alive like one does in the NA6. The reason that Porsche is bringing back the NA6 ( In the GTS only) is that the public could not get past the sound of the engine and as such the turbo has been a bit of a flop. Take the sound out of it and you are dealing with a better engine in the Turbo. That being said it is all academic as in a few years in will likely be an EV platform and we will all be listening to the piped in sound of the NA6 in an EV :)

    Meanwhile this is an absolutely beautiful car and should do well. I am not in general a fan of white but this is truly a beautiful car

    Any insight into the brake pad replacements so close together at 18K and 23.5K?

  • 550bryan 1 week, 1 dayago

    @craig66 No significant difference in trans both with PDK available, handling the same too. The difference a 4 cylinder turbo vs a NA 6. The turbo is probably slightly faster in absolute terms but lacks the linear performance on the normally aspirated engine which also is noticeably smoother and makes a screaming sound when pushed the 4 just can't deliver. Thats why Porsche is bringing back the non turbo flat 6 in the new Cayman GTS, customers demanded it for good reason.

    The 981 with the 6 from the 991 is far superior to the later 918 wih the turbo 4 IMHO. This is the one to have. GLWTS.
