A purist’s sports car intended for the most discerning drivers, the 2016 Porsche 911 R combines the high-performance underpinnings of the GT3 RS with classic styling and a visceral 6-speed manual transmission. This example is one of only 991 produced in total and comes finished in White with Red stripes over a Black leather interior with GT Silver stitching. The car was originally delivered to The Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills, CA, and most recently spent time in Nevada prior to the seller's acquisition in early 2023. It was ordered with an optional extended-range fuel tank as well as a front axle lift system, BOSE Surround Sound System, air conditioning, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM), and has since been upgraded with an optional OEM single-mass flywheel. This rare and highly sought-after modern classic is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona while showing just 957 miles on the odometer.
The 911 R shares its chassis and bumpers with the contemporary GT3 and features a hood and front fenders made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) as well as a magnesium roof panel, lightweight plastic rear windows, and a speed-activated rear spoiler borrowed from the Carrera. This example is finished in White with contrasting Red stripes and side graphics that evoke the original Porsche 911 R of the late 1960s. It rides on lightweight forged aluminum GT3 center-lock wheels in a matte silver finish with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires mounted in 2021. The seller notes clear paint protection film has been applied over the front bumper, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black leather interior is contrasted by GT Silver stitching and exhibits a classic theme with houndstooth fabric seat centers as well as vintage-style instrumentation featuring green markings and silver-capped pivot pins. Other details include carbon fiber trim pieces, fabric door pull straps, full bucket seats, a 360mm GT Sport steering wheel, a short-shift gear lever in carbon fiber, and an aluminum badge embedded on the passenger’s side that reads the car’s individual production number. This example was further equipped with optional auto-dimming mirrors & integrated rain sensor, air conditioning, BOSE Surround Sound System, Online Services, a front axle lift system, Porsche Communication Management (PCM), and receivers for SiriusXM Satellite Radio, NavTraffic, NavWeather, and HD Radio.
Shared with the GT3 RS, the 911 R is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that produces up to 500 HP and 339 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission with an upgraded single-mass flywheel and a mechanical limited-slip differential. Stopping power comes from Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). The 911 R is also outfitted with a specially tuned version of Porsche Stability Management (PSM) as well as lightweight titanium exhaust and suspension from the GT3 RS. The CARFAX report shows a 40k-mile interval service completed at Porsche Oklahoma City in July 2021 before the car was offered as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle in September of the same year. Another oil change and inspection were carried out in April 2023 as well. The seller notes a CPO warranty is reportedly in effect until 9/23/2023 and may potentially transfer to the next private owner.
This sale will include a clean title, two keys, owner's manuals, the original window sticker, sales documentation, service records, and the stock dual-mass flywheel.

Most stunning car that’s been on this site for a long time. I’m in awe.
First, I have not driven an R with the dual mass flywheel. Not being installed when manufactured will follow this cars value. However, it is only one part, of the "secret sauce" that makes driving this car so compelling. In addition, it is my understanding that a Porsche dealer or reputable technician can replace the flywheel making the drivetrain identical to an R ordered with the lightened flywheel. It is my suspicion that the dual flywheel is not as extreme a change as in let's say 964RS or even a 997.2 GT3RS v .2 GT3. This car seems a beautiful, low mileage example. The new owner won't be sorry.
@Boattail The single-mass flywheel definitely adds a special driving feel to these amazing Rs. We did not receive the invoice for the single-mass installation when we purchased the car. We can confirm that the car was previously Certified (still under CPO Warranty) with the single-mass flywheel installed. The dual-mass flywheel accompanies the sale.
