The 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 delivers an immersive driving experience with a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine that sings up to a 9k-RPM redline. This 2018 example equips a 7-speed PDK transmission and the Front Axle Lift System, and sports a Carbon Steel Grey Metallic finish exclusively offered in Porsche’s Paint to Sample catalog. Acquired by its seller as a Porsche Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle in March of 2022, this GT3 is now being offered for auction out of Tennessee with approximately 17k miles on the odometer.

A custom Paint to Sample option, this GT3 was ordered with a Carbon Steel Grey Metallic (A9W) finish complemented by Satin Black-painted 20” 911 GT3 center lock wheels. It rides on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The seller adds that a full paint protection film has been applied, and a minor imperfection is present in the film. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The driver is greeted by a black leather and Alcantara interior featuring full carbon bucket seats, a steering wheel with a 12 o’clock marker in red, Anthracite Brushed Aluminum trim, and aluminum pedals. Additional options include the Light Design Package, a Porsche crested Alcantara storage compartment lid, a fire extinguisher, a luggage net in the passenger footwell, factory floor mats, and the Bose Surround Sound System.

The naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine is rated at 500 HP stock, driving the rear wheels by way of a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. Standard performance features include a mechanical rear differential lock, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), rear-axle steering, and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV). Optional equipment includes the Front Axle Lift System and an extended-range fuel tank (23.7 gal.). A Shark Werks muffler has been installed and the original will accompany the sale. The seller adds that a 20k-mile service was carried out by Porsche Nashville, Tennessee, in March of 2022 including an air filter change, oil and filter change, spark plugs replaced, and one ignition coil replaced. The Certified Pre-Owned warranty remains in effect until March 2025.

This sale will include a clean title.

@Leigh2 Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated. Im glad to know Im not the only one that has this type of problem. 996s are great cup cars.

@Lakefront2020 No issue overall with the PPF. There is a nickel to quarter size mark in the driver's side radiator inlet. The PPF did its job but if you get down and look at it, its noticeable.

What is the issue with the PPF?

@Supercup My son and I are the same, we've driven cups and other race cars for years and we're both struggling to detune our track addictions. I bought a 991 GT3 and tried it for a season as my track car and it just wasn't the same, although very capable cars in comparison to a cup they feel slow heavy and have no grip. I have ended up with a 996 cup that is less expensive to maintain than a 7 but it still requires a truck and trailer and a well equipped shop.

@DG1 Thanks for your comments and bid. And yes, it is a beautiful car. With regards to track time, I can tell you when I purchased the car, I don't believe it had any significant or any at all track time. When we looked over the car, there just wasn't enough there to lead us to believe it was a track car. To answer your question regarding quick turnaround time, that is a question I have been asking myself as well. The short answer is economics. The long answer is a bit more complex. I'll try and give you the long answer and make it as short as possible. My son and I have driven Cups (997s) for years. Last year we decided to sell our Cups and buy track cars. He bought his car and I bought the GT3. I took it to an introductory track day at NCM in Bowling Green. For about an hour of track time, I thoroughly enjoyed driving this car. 9000 RPMs in these cars, for me is just incredible. The car went back in the garage after a good cleaning, and I looked forward to driving it again. In the interim a few trips back to Sebring in a rental, made me realize I wasn't done driving a race car. I'm sure you see the problem. To have a GT3 in the garage, and afford the care and feeding of a race car, is something that just does not compute. So I have pretty much left the car in the garage. My wife and I have taken a couple trips in the Tennessee back roads, etc. I think I have driven the car about 700 miles since I bought it. Am i glad to sell it, no. When I am done racing for the second time, will I buy another GT3--absolutely!

Beautiful car, couple of questions, any track time and curious why the relatively quick turnaround?
