2022 marked the 50th anniversary of BMW’s M division, celebrating 5 decades of motorsport victories and some of the world’s most legendary road cars. The first BMW equipped with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system, the F90 M5 redefined the expected performance from a luxury sedan, powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.4L S63 V8 producing up to 616 HP. This M5 was ordered in Black Sapphire Metallic over a Tartufo Full Merino leather interior, and was additionally optioned with the Competition Package, Driver’s Assistant Pro Package, M Drivers Package, and Executive Package, and features 50th Anniversary BMW M roundels that pay homage to the classic motorsport badge with semicircles in the M tri-color pattern surrounding the classic blue and white emblem. Remaining under the care of its original owner and covered by the factory 4-year/50k mile warranty, this 2022 BMW M5 is now being offered at auction by its seller out of Texas, showing approximately 5,500 miles on the odometer.
The exterior of this F90 was specified in Black Sapphire Metallic (475) with extended high-gloss black Shadowline trim. Details include Shadowline full LED adaptive headlights, M Compound red-finished brake calipers, 50th Anniversary BMW M roundels, widened aluminum fenders with M5-branded vents, revised bumpers, a rear trunk lid spoiler, LED tail lights, and black-finished quad exhaust tips. The 20” BMW Style 706M wheels are finished in gloss black and wear 50th Anniversary BMW M center caps, mounted with Pirelli P-Zero tires.
The cabin is appointed with optional Tartufo Merino full leather upholstery covering the dashboard, center console, door panels, and glove box lid. The 20-way adjustable multifunction seats feature heating, cooling, and massage functions along with illuminated M5 badging in the headrests and M tri-color seatbelts. Aluminum Dark Structure trim spans the dashboard, center console, and door panels, and the headliner is trimmed in Individual Anthracite Alcantara suede. The optional Executive Package equips soft-close automatic doors, a power rear sunshade, rear side window shades, Parking Assistant Plus with the 3D Surround View camera system, Active Park Distance Control, and the Driver Recorder. The Driving Assistant Plus adds Active Cruise Control, Active Lane Keeping, Traffic-Jam Assistant, and Cross-Traffic Alert Front as well as Evasion Aid and Side Collision Avoidance. Standard amenities include a heated multifunction steering wheel, remote start, Comfort Access keyless entry, a power tailgate, a heads-up display, BMW Live Cockpit Pro with navigation, Advanced Real-Time Traffic Information, BMW Gesture Control, and Apple CarPlay, as well as 4-zone automatic climate control.
Power is derived from a twin-turbocharged S63 V8 rated at 617 HP and 553 lb.-ft of torque. An 8-speed ZF M-Steptronic automatic transmission with an Active M Differential sends power through BMW’s M xDrive all-wheel-drive system and offers three driving modes including a rear-wheel-drive option. Acceleration from 0-60 occurs in around 3 seconds, with a 190 MPH top speed as enabled by the M Drivers Package. Compared to a standard M5, the Competition is also equipped with stiffer engine mounts, firmer springs and dampers, heavy-duty front sway bar mounts, and a thickened rear sway bar. The F90’s M Drive system allows the driver to optimize the vehicle’s driving characteristics with two red buttons on either side of the steering wheel controlling the dynamic dampers, throttle response, transmission modes, and M-Sport exhaust system. The seller reports that all scheduled service has been completed, including the initial break-in service.

@MStein badging and I was told 2022’s with build dates after march got badging. Others could opt for it at no charge. You can have badge on any I suspect buts it’s not a special edition no. Hope that makes sense. The 2022 m’s are the 50th anniversary of M. No other year will be that but not a special edition 50th.
