A high-performance open-top sports car for the driving purist, the Porsche 718 Spyder shares its chassis and naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine with the Cayman GT4 and features a lightweight convertible top with a unique double streamliner decklid. This Canadian-market 2022 example is finished in the rare Paint to Sample color of Meissen Blue over a Black leather and Race-Tex interior. It was specified for European Delivery at the Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen and configured with a 6-speed manual transmission, optional LED headlights including PDLS+, the BOSE Surround Sound System, Black Brushed Aluminum interior trim, and Satin Platinum-painted wheels. The car has also been fitted with GT4 side intake scoops and yellow instrument dials and door straps. Acquired by the seller as a certified pre-owned vehicle in September 2023, this 718 is now being offered for auction once again on PCARMARKET at no reserve out of Canada showing 12k kilometers (~7,500 miles) on the odometer.

The 718 Spyder features an aggressive front fascia and rear diffuser from the GT4, a ducktail-style rear spoiler, and a lightweight folding convertible soft top that stows beneath an aluminum rear decklid with distinctive double streamliners. This example is believed to be one of only three 718 Spyders finished in Meissen Blue, a historic Paint to Sample color originally offered on the 1957 Porsche 356. The seller indicates that GT4 side scoops were installed as a custom factory option. Other equipment includes optional LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), clear taillights, dual exhaust outlets, red brake calipers, and 20” GT4 wheels painted in Satin Platinum. The seller states the full front bumper, mirrors, and forward portion of the hood are covered by clear paint protection film and the exterior has been treated with a ceramic coating. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin features Black leather and Race-Tex upholstery including 2-way manual Sport Seats Plus and a three-spoke GT Sport steering wheel. Yellow instrument dials and door pull straps have been installed and the original black pieces are included in the sale. Accessories include Black Brushed Aluminum trim inlays, air conditioning, cruise control, rear ParkAssist, a rearview camera, Porsche Communication Management (PCM), Apple CarPlay, and the BOSE Surround Sound System.

Derived from the GT4, the 718 Spyder features a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine rated at 414 HP and 309 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission and a mechanically locking differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV). The Boxster Spyder shares its brakes and chassis setup with the GT4 including a track-tuned version of Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). The seller notes the car will be sold with a stock exhaust system, although a Soul Race Exhaust can be installed upon the buyer’s request for an additional $2k. Routine annual maintenance has been performed at an authorized Porsche dealer including the most recent service in September 2024. Additionally, this vehicle is said to remain covered by a pre-owned warranty until 3/14/2028.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a battery trickle charger, the original black gauge faces and door straps, and a clean title. The seller states the vehicle is currently leased, and the winning bidder will be responsible for a buyout fee of $899, including Canadian sales tax, although U.S. buyers are exempt from sales tax as long as they can provide a bill of lading.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned this car since and was always stored in a climate-controlled parking. Never winter driven. All maintenance is up-to-date. Purchased as a CPO unit in Sep 2023 with 3650 miles on the car. Currently has 7690 miles on it. Full CPO Warranty till 3/14/2028. I am the 2nd owner. As per the Porsche center, 1st owner took European delivery and sold it when they shipped it back to Canada. It is a true collector’s car with a special PTS Paint to Sample Meissen Blue, which was originally introduced on the 1957 Porsche 356. Based on some reports this is 1 of 3 Meissen Blue 718 Spyders in the world. 1 in the US, 1 in the UK and this is the only 1 in Canada.”

  • Bored (registered bidder) 1 day, 16 hoursago

@seller I feel for you, no reserve has to be very very stressful.
A lot of potential risk for buyers also with the tariffs, the associated costs of import and then if you get hit by the 25% tariffs because you couldn't get the car out before the 30 day reprieve, you are up schitts creek.

I have to admit I am a little confused over the back and forth of bringing the car across the border? Recently purchased a car out of Canada, got my letter from Porsche, reset the gauges, paid 2.8% tax. It was pretty straight forward with the help of an agent.

Having said that, this is a fantastic car if you are in the market for a Spyder. We all love the unique ones.

@ssim Porsche mentioned they would let you buy out the car without tax. I will assist the buyer throughout the process but this is what they have said. obviously on the condition that the bill of lading is provided as soon as you have it. If they are hassling you for the 13%, i will pay the 13% on the condition that buyer provides me with a bill of lading so i can claim the 13% back. I am flexible on this point.

  • ssim 1 day, 16 hoursago

@azhan123 A Bill of Lading is provided by a shipper once the car arrives. It shows where the car originated and ended its shipping journey. How can I provide such a document to PFS before it's paid off?

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 day, 16 hoursago

@carguy94 like i mentioned in my previous comments, a US buyer will not pay the 13% Canadian HST as long as you provide a Bill of lading. I have this in writing from Porsche.

  • ssim 1 day, 16 hoursago

And to clarify on the payoff through Porsche Financial - your payoff currently includes 13% of Canadian tax. But, if I provide them a Bill of Lading, I wouldn't have to pay tax.

Is this a scenario where I'd have to chase PFS for the refund of the tax? Because I will only have a Bill of Lading once the car is arrived in the US to my home. I'm fine with the CAD$899 fee to pay it off, but I'm not sure how difficult it would be to get the tax money back from PFS about a month or so later, once the car arrives safely.

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 day, 16 hoursago

I have added a picture of the gauge cluster showing MPH and the "BRAKE" symbol.

  • carguy94 (registered bidder) 1 day, 16 hoursago

@azhan123 Please see photo #58 for reference - you are correct that the digital reading can be change to MPH in the settings however, with Porsche's specifically you'll note the analog section of the cluster physically reads KPH which will also need to be switched out. All of those costs adding up along with being left to cover the 13% HST for 3 mos is a hard pill to swallow. Truly a beautiful example, I just wish it was already in the US.

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 day, 16 hoursago

@ssim half the hood, front bumpers, side mirrors has been PPFed. Full car has ceramic coating.

  • ssim 1 day, 16 hoursago

The description says "forward portion" of the hood has Paint Protection Film. Does that mean the entire hood is covered in PPF? Or just half of it?

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 day, 16 hoursago

@ssim Yes they would do it within the same day.

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 day, 16 hoursago

@ssim The gauge shows MPH for speedometer and odometer by changing it in the PCM settings. i will attach a picture showing MPH and the "BRAKE" symbol that it also needs to show for US compliance.

  • ssim 1 day, 16 hoursago

@azhan123 Do you think they'd be able to change the name on the LOC fairly quickly?

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 day, 16 hoursago

@ssim Not sure if it needs to be in the buyers name, but Porsche said they will change the details on my request if its required. Hope this helps.

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 day, 17 hoursago

@carguy94 to clarify, I was basically answering the question one of the bidders asked me about regarding "Is there a service/company that can get the car through the import process (to the US/New York) and what are the fees for such service?". The bidder is referring to a service for getting the car imported, which basically means the broker fees (some buyers have they got quoted $1.1K and some have said $2.5K, this obviously depends on the broker you will be using). Yes there is an import duty of 2.84%. Yes there are shipping costs added as well. Based on what i've read, the cluster should show MPH for speedometer and odometer which is possible by changing it in the settings. I have a picture which i can attach showing everything in MPH. The other thing that needs to be shown is the "BRAKE" symbol instead of "(!)" symbol for the emergency brake, which my car does show since the gauges i have installed originated in the US. Hope this clarifies. Thanks

  • ssim 1 day, 17 hoursago

@ssim If the LOC won't be accepted because it's not in my name....I'm not sure I'd be able to get another quick enough. And doing the gauge swaps through a registered broker would be the back-up option, but that may take longer than 30 days!

  • ssim 1 day, 17 hoursago

Doesn't the LOC have to be in the importer's name (so the buyer) for it to be accepted? Because I imagine that it's currently in your name @azhan123?

  • carguy94 (registered bidder) 1 day, 17 hoursago

@azhan123 this isn't accurate - best case scenario if the 25% tariff is in fact not implemented, the car will still be subject to the roughly 2.9% tariff that's been in place (albeit far less, still a notable expense). Furthermore in one of your more recent responses you noted $1.5k-$2k for an importer charge; from my findings $2.1k USD is more accurate (keep in mind it also needs a cluster conversion to MPH), which then only gets the car across the border. Then I would be on the hook for shipping from just over the border, which I've been quoted to be an additional $2k approximately to my location...then there's the matter of covering the 13% HST and being refunded in approximately 3 mos time from the Canada Revenue Agency. Not trying to be negative by any means, simply giving a more realistic cost and logistics analysis that we all need to keep in mind.

@Munich911 Yes you are right and there are things out of anyone's control at this point! However, i am looking at the positives that have officially been published saying the tariff's have been delayed for another 30 days! Respectfully speaking I will not be covering the costs of the tariff's or import fees and they would be the responsibility of the buyer! I understand this would make you a bit uneasy as a potential bidder, however, I am willing to go out of my way to help out the highest bidder with anything that might be in my control to be fair. Thanks for considering my car and hope the end result is satisfactory for both the buyer and myself!

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 day, 18 hoursago

@sdavis Hello, i have the letter of compliance that states that "this vehicle met all U.S. Federal Emmissions and U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety, Bumper and Theft Prevention standards".
i have attached pictures of whatever stickers are on the car and am not sure if those are the ones you were looking for? Hope this helps!

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 day, 18 hoursago

@Glickster Hello, yes majority of the buyers would normally go through the import process through a broker. There is also a list of certified importers that is easily available if you want peace of mind. I was told the cost is roughly in the range of $1500-$2000 for the broker fees. Thanks and hope this helps!

  • Munich911 (registered bidder) 1 day, 18 hoursago

@azhan123 I appreciate you expediting the LOC. However, there are some things that are simply out of your control. What's to say the US changes it's mind tomorrow or in 5 says and implements the tariff? It's difficult to bid with confidence with this kind of uncertainty. If you are confident that US tariff's will not be an issue, it would put me and I'm sure others at ease knowing that you would agree to cover the cost of any US tariffs the winning bidder would have to pay. Thanks for the consideration and I'm sorry your auction has to deal with all this.

Does the car have an emissions sticker that says it's compliant with California standards? I'm under the impression that's how CA will judge the car's compliance.

  • Glickster (registered bidder) 1 day, 19 hoursago

Apologies for my ignorance. Is there a service/company that can get the car through the import process (to the US/New York) and what are the fees for such service?

    Thanks.

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 day, 20 hoursago

@Munich911 Hello, as of yesterday the official news is that the tariffs are not coming into place. As long as the process of buy and sell is completed ASAP there shouldn't be any tariffs at all. I have the letter of compliance with me which would help the buyer to get the car to their door within the week!

Porsche isn't really issuing the LOC's at the moment, but made an exception to the rule due to my urgent request regarding the tariff situation. So getting the letter in itself was a huge deal! Please bid with confidence!

One day the US is assessing tariffs and the next day they are delaying tariffs. As a potential bidder, it's a bit uneasy not knowing what each day brings and the nuances of the proposed tariff. So here's my question. In the event this car is subject to any US tariffs before it is exported to the US, would you agree to cover the cost of any US tariffs the winning bidder would have to pay?

Hello Viewers, still waiting for confirmation on how the tariff's would affect this sale, however, i have been in touch with Porsche Canada and they have been really helpful with regards to the Letter of Compliance/Conformity. They will be expediting the process and I should have it with me by end of today! Hopefully this helps with expediting the import process for the buyer!

@Glickster Hello, is this statement an excerpt from some officially posted statements from the White House?
"viz., not constituting goods or resources manufactured, harvested or originating from Canada (in this case, a German manufactured vehicle.)"

  • Glickster (registered bidder) 2 days, 20 hoursago

Not familiar with Trump's threatened tariffs; but I can't imagine that an import tariff would apply to the resale of a used automobile, viz., not constituting goods or resources manufactured, harvested or originating from Canada (in this case, a German manufactured vehicle.)

  • SeaCAD (registered bidder) 3 days, 21 hoursago

@azhan123 the listing actually says the soul exhaust "can be installed" which implies that the stock system needs no installation. But regardless if you've got any videos stock I'd be interested in seeing them. Thanks for your responsiveness!

  • azhan123 (seller) 3 days, 21 hoursago

@brass4321 I’m hoping for the best! Implementing tariffs is not as simple as starting to pay 25%, they haven’t hashed out the nitty gritties yet and there are absolutely no processes in place. I’m sure the import officers are just as confused at this point in time. Hopefully the details come out soon and the actual implementation date is pushed further. There are so many pieces to this puzzle at this point. In the meantime, I have emailed Porsche to see if they can provide me with an urgent LOC before the tariffs kick in. That should help the buyer save on the 30 day holding and inspection rule at the border. This may be the last chance to get the only Meissen Blue 718 Spyder in Canada to the US! Hope that helps!

  • azhan123 (seller) 3 days, 21 hoursago

@SeaCAD Hello, I will not be able to put back in the stock exhaust before the auction closes. As mentioned in the listing, the car currently has the soul exhaust installed on it and if the buyer chooses not to have it then the OEM will be professionally installed back to OEM spec. That being said, let me go back in time and see if I did take any videos before I installed the Soul exhaust. If in case I happen to find one I’ll inform you. Hope that helps for now.

  • SeaCAD (registered bidder) 3 days, 21 hoursago

@azhan123 can we get some listings videos that are representative of the selling condition then? Stock exhaust, etc.? That's virtually the whole value of the videos and that's not what's presented.

  • brass4321 (registered bidder) 3 days, 23 hoursago

Highly unlikely that anyone in the U.S. could close and import before the tariffs kick in. Shame, really nice spec.

  • azhan123 (seller) 4 days, 7 hoursago

@SeaCAD It is with the Soul Race Exhaust on the car! Makes it sound like a true GT car!

  • SeaCAD (registered bidder) 4 days, 8 hoursago

Is the exhaust in the listing videos the stock system or the soul exhaust system?

  • azhan123 (seller) 4 days, 12 hoursago

@Jeferd seems like they were signed off. However, there are so many pieces to this puzzle that they might set a future start date in order to hash everything out. Unfortunately it is a waiting game again to find out what will actually unfold.
I am in touch with the PCAR team to figure out next steps. Will keep you guys posted! Hoping that any deals done before the launch of the tariffs will still be eligible for no tariffs! 🤞

@HanktheCarGuy Hello Hank, hope you’re doing well! As of now there is no solid information on the tariffs. I’m checking daily to see if there’s any news on it. BBC says it’s just a wait and watch scenario as of now. Good news is that it would be clear by the time the auction ends so potential buyers would have a better idea of what they might be getting into by then. Hopefully it is clarified tomorrow. Thanks

For a buyer based in Canada, is it possible to take over the lease?

  • Jeferd (registered bidder) 5 days, 22 hoursago

My first thought was the looming tariffs. I don’t think I would be willing to take the chance to find out at the border that you are going to get hit with a 25% penalty

  • HanktheCarGuy (registered bidder) 5 days, 23 hoursago

Does anyone have more detailed information on the looming 25% trade tariff proposed to go into affect tomorrow for importing goods from Canada. My understanding is if this happens it will need to be paid at the border prior taking any goods including cars into the US from Canada and Mexico

For US buyers, here is a link that shows what documents may be needed and what the process would look like to get the car imported to the US. Again, there are brokers who assist with the entire process for a minimal fee.

@naiusa Hello, there shouldn't be any emissions concerns to bring it to the US. There is a import duty of 2.84% I believe and a broker can really simplify the process for you by assisting you with a door to door delivery! There should be no issue registering the car in California as I have seen a lot of Canadian spec cars going to California. Thanks

  • naiusa (registered bidder) 6 days, 14 hoursago

Will this car be registerable in the state of California?

  • naiusa (registered bidder) 6 days, 14 hoursago

Are there any emissions or DOY Concerns bringing this car to the US? Are the emissions labels and safety labels Canadian spec?

I assume duty would have to be paid upon entry into the US as well.

@Fordgt Hello, highest bid didn't meet the reserve last time. It's now up as a no reserve auction and WILL go to a new home next Tuesday! :)

@azhan123, can you please tell us what occurred when this Spyder was up for sale recently on this site?

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 weekago

@Ksdaoski Hello, the person who buys out the vehicle normally pays the lease buyout fee. It is roughly USD$600. I can discuss specifics with the highest bidder and am flexible with the buyout process. Although both parties can save on sales tax once the bill of lading is provided if the highest bidder is shipping it straight to the US. Thanks

  • Ksdaoski (registered bidder) 1 weekago

Who is responsible for the lease buyout fee?

@CRM925 The car is leased through Porsche Financial Services! I can assist with getting the LOC from Porsche if they are still providing one. I will be here to support the buyer in anything they might need.

  • azhan123 (seller) 1 weekago

@CarGuyTexas911 Hello, yes it is an awesome color especially in person! I think that might have been a mistake. The car is located in Ontario, Canada. The car is currently leased and Porsche Financial Services allow a third party buyout. For US buyers, as long as a bill of lading is provided, there won't be any Canadian sales tax which is normally 13%. For the purpose of a lease buyout, there is a CAD$899 (roughly USD$600) buyout fee.

  • CRM925 (registered bidder) 1 weekago

I’m not sure if I missed it; do you have the LoC from PCNA for potential US buyers?

  • CRM925 (registered bidder) 1 weekago

A well spec'd car in a unique color. Could you please clarify the listing as the Vehicle Details states the car is located in Ontario, Canada, but the last sentence of the first paragraph states the car is located in California.
The last paragraph states that Canadian Tax would be due, to I suspect the first paragraph has a typo and the car is not located in California.
As well, please clarify why there is a lease buyout fee of $899 to be paid by the winning bidder if the car was acquired as a CPO.
    Thank you and GLWTA.
