Available here for auction is this 2017 Subaru BRZ finished in Pure Red over black leather and Alcantara interior. Otherwise known as the Toyota 86 and Scion FR-S, the BRZ was a joint venture between Subaru and Toyota. Drawing inspiration from the lightweight Corolla AE86 of the 80s, the BRZ uses a front engine, rear-drive platform with near 50/50 weight distribution, and is powered by a naturally-aspirated four cylinder boxer engine paired with a slick shifting 6-speed manual gearbox. This 2017 example was sold new in Ohio, and was subsequently purchased by the seller in 2021 from Fredmartin Ford of Ohio with just over 500 miles on the odometer. It comes equipped with LED headlamps, cruise control, power accessories, heated seats and more. This BRZ is now being offered here for auction by its seller out of North Carolina, while showing approximately 624 miles on the odometer.

This BRZ is finished in Pure Red, and features an aluminum hood, a rear deck lid spoiler, front fender vents, and dual outlet exhausts. For 2017 the BRZ received a styling update which included a revised front fascia, and full-LED headlamps and taillamps. A collection of detailed images has been provided by the seller and can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. It rides on a set of 17” aluminum alloy wheels, which come dressed in a set of Michelin Primacy Hp tires.

Inside, the seats are upholstered in black leather with alcantara inserts and contrasting red stitching. For 2017 the interior was also revised with a new leather wrapped steering which is slightly smaller than the one it replaced, faux carbon fiber trim on the center stack, and a performance display in the gauge cluster which allows the driver to track fluid temperatures and horsepower and torque curves. Amenities include automatic climate control, a push-button ignition, power windows, door locks and mirrors, cruise control, and heated seats.

Power comes from a FA20 2.0L flat-four cylinder engine, which drives the rear wheels by way of a TL70 6-speed manual gearbox with a Torsen limited-slip differential. The BRZ’s handling characteristics have been lauded by automotive journalists since its release, thanks in part to its low mounted engine helping to provide a lower center of gravity, and its sport tuned suspension with double wishbones at the rear. For 2017 the engine received  updated airbox, an aluminum intake with larger tubing, freer-flowing exhaust manifolds, lower friction camshaft and valve surfaces, and strengthened pistons and crankshaft bearings. The result is a gain of five horsepower and torque, and a broader power band than previous models. The BRZ also received revised suspension tuning, a larger rear anti-roll bar, and an updated stability control system with a new track setting. The CARFAX highlights three service history records, and an oil and filter service was completed in October 2021.
