  • Seller: MILESAHEADPORSCHE
  • Location: Malibu, CA 90265
  • Lot #: M-0040775-DT

Available for auction is an incredibly rare, illuminated Porsche dealership letter set. This large-scale Porsche dealership sign consists of the seven letters of P-O-R-S-C-H-E that measure approximately 40’ feet in total length. Each letter is 60" inches wide by 30" inches tall.

Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, Florida was purchased by Fields Automotive Group back in 2015 and the sign was acquired shortly after the sale and before they relocated to their new Brumos Collection location.

These signs are supposed to be dismantled and destroyed when removed. However, as highly prized and coveted collectible items go, a few of these precious and rare signs slipped through the cracks and ended up in private collections. In its restoration, the sign was required to be converted to the California Clean Energy (SB 100) specifications. This was done utilizing State of California-approved LED lighting. Each letter is fully restored and reconstructed of a gray-finished metal case capped with the original red Elkamet German plastic. This signage would have been the main large letters (not the smaller Porsche letters seen on the sides of dealerships) placed prominently in the front of the Porsche Dealership.

Brumos Porsche is best known for its impressive sports-car racing history competing in the early '70s, participating in its first 24 Hours of Daytona in 1971 with many wins at the famed 24-hour race. Brumos Racing was one of the most long-standing and highly regarded sports car race teams in the world and memorabilia is often highly coveted by collectors and Porsche aficionados alike.

The seller states he does not have a Certificate of Authenticity or paperwork but the letters were manufactured in Germany for Porsche as an indication of its German DNA (see the close-up photos of the lens cap) and is the authentic genuine article made in Deutschland. The sign has resided in the seller’s collection for the past nine years.

Rarely do these massive large-scale 40’ feet wide Porsche dealership letter sets ever come onto the open market out of private collectors' hands. Whether you're a devoted Porsche collector looking to add an astonishing piece to your collection or simply a fan of exceptional automotive memorabilia, this illuminated Porsche sign is sure to be a prized Porsche artifact and possession that will absolutely make a powerful statement in your collection. The seller states the crates in the photos will not be included in the sale however they are happy to assist with shipping/handling. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees.

go ahead and post the details here, as validation is obviously needed throwing the Brumos name around. I know where all of the signs went, and still are, as @among handled (very carefully) where they were going....

  • MILESAHEADPORSCHE (seller) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@harrissnodgrass I can't DM you. But you can DM me and I can gladly share those salient details with you sir.
It would be an honor as your pops was such a great man and I'd love to clear up your understanding on this sign.

  • among 1 month, 3 weeksago

I operate Fields Porsche Jacksonville and personally handled the removal and storage of the dealership signage after the acquisition and relocation. I can confirm this is NOT authentic as described.

I can be reached at the dealership main line.

If there is an explanation or history that ties this to Brumos, then it needs clarified or authenticated. Currently as described coming from the location in the photos or time frame with the Fields acquisition, it is incorrect.

  • MILESAHEADPORSCHE (seller) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@nineteeneleven911 As I stated in my first post:
"I had a unique and personal perspective of the Brumos giants like Peter Gregg, his lovely wife Debora, and
(the aforementioned) "The King" himself: Bob Snodgrass and a few others in the Brumos chain of command that enabled me to rescue and salvage this special part of Brumos Porsche history almost a decade ago."
I never said or represented that "Bob Snodgrass" gave me the PORSCHE in any of my post. It was bought and paid for from Fields Automotive Group when they took ownership.

  • harrissnodgrass (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@milesaheadporsche understood, however Brumos had one Porsche factory illuminated letter sign, and it still hangs to this day, here in Jacksonville, FL. I would love to hear how you acquired this sign, and from whom.

  • MILESAHEADPORSCHE (seller) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@harrissnodgrass I never said that your father "gave" it to me Harris. If you read my post closely I state: As a former employee of Brumos Porsche / Audi starting out as a car Porter at 16 years old with Brumos,
"I had a unique and personal perspective of the Brumos giants like Peter Gregg, his lovely wife Debora, and
"The King" himself: Bob Snodgrass and a few others in the Brumos chain of command that enabled me to rescue and salvage this special part of Brumos Porsche history almost a decade ago."
SO AS YOU CAN SEE I NEVER STATED THAT YOUR POPS "GAVE IT TO ME SIR"
I bought the sign and can prove that it has been in my possession for almost 10 years now. I had a number of dealings with your pops before he passed and along with Debora Gregg. DM me and I can clear up any doubt of the validity of my ownership.

  • nineteeneleven911 (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

    Hmmm 🤔

  • harrissnodgrass (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

So, I am questioning the validity of this, as my father was Bob Snodgrass, and a decade ago, when you claimed he "gave" it to you, he had been deceased for 7 years. I own some of the original Brumos signage to this day, and know where this "actual" Brumos illuminated sign hangs, to this day....

Thank you @DMTSSG for your SOLID bid of ($12,500) Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Dollars!

The field is now rounded out with four serious contenders for this ultimate Porsche collectable and rounding the bend and heading the wire.
As we are inside the final hour of the auction coming to a close we are still some distance from the Pcar Market approved and established RESERVE.
I encourage you to bid to win!

Like a Jockey running for the roses @FamilyOfficeGuy has eased into the lead on the inside rail to make his final push and is slightly in the lead with less that 24 hours to run to the finish line in the BRUMOS PORSCHE DEALERSHIP SIGN auction.
Thank you for your bid of ($10,936) ten thousand nine hundred thirty six dollars!
The Porsche 936 Groupe 6 sports prototype is one of my favorite Porsche racers (and 1977 Le Mans winner in 1977)of all time. [nice touch with the 936 number!]
Let me again thank each bidder for their interest and their bids as well as inform all of the bidders that the reserve for this classic vintage Porsche relic is still quite a distance away.
However, once the reserve has been reached I will let ALL the bidders know that THE RESERVE IS OFF!
(I verified that I can do this with Pcar Market and staying within their rules and regulations on this special auction)
Setting the stage for bidders to know that their bids will have a chance to take this grand prize home!
Good luck with the bidding and DM me if you have any questions that we can assist you with.

Thank you @NSXER for your calculated bid of ($10,911) ten thousand nine hundred and eleven dollars on the Brumos PORSCHE Dealership signage.
You join two other serious bidders who have made strong (10K+) bids like yourself to acquire this very special and vaunted Porsche artifact.
However, per Pcar Market rules and regulations I can NOT disclose what my PRIVATE RESERVE is on this auction.
But I can tell you that you're in the hunt on one of the most remarkable museum quality vintage Porsche collectables currently on the open collector market in the world today.
Recent values within the past 12 months on these rare large scale 40 foot PORSCHE dealership signs range from the low end of 35K to the high end of 41K.
Those documented sales figures come from the high end auctions that were from our very own PCar Market and the other online auction house BAT respectively.

But none of these previous Porsche dealer signs had the pedigree and history of coming from the walls of the preeminent PORSCHE Dealership in the World with such rich Porsche racing history and Championship pedigree...
    BRUMOS PORSCHE!
You're bidding to own the Unicorn...
    The Albatross...
The elusive and forbidden enigma at the highest end of Porsche collecting that's tied to the legendary and iconic history of Brumos Porsche.
Good luck in your quest to wrangle this giant and massive Porsche gem into your special collection as it will be prized and coveted by all that should be fortunate enough to own and experience this incredible automobile and Porsche enthusiast collectable.

@FamilyOfficeGuy thank you for your generous bid of ($10,500) ten thousand five hundred dollars.
