Available for auction is a pair of vintage Scheel bucket seats. The seller states these seats were removed from a 914 but will fit numerous types of classic vehicles. These seats were reupholstered several years ago with houndstooth fabric centers and black leather bolsters. A small tear is noted on one of the bolsters which the seller states could be fixed upon the sale if the buyer desires. The seats do not come with mounting brackets. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.

@Doghouse14 - I see that your listing states that the Buy It Now price for the pair of seats is $2,000 USD. I wanted to confirm that that is indeed the case, as your previous comment to Bend, OR makes it sound as though you’re looking to sell these seats for much higher than that.

Thanks Bend Oregon. You bid is appreciated for ONE seat. When looking at comparable sales history I found two examples since 2018. First set was above $7000 and second example about $3200
These are very nice seats, rare, solid . My belief is they would either exceed previous results or at least approaching them. I have a pair of Koenig in my other 914LE and was able to get one back in the early 1980s…….and many, many years later found a second one. These seats just don’t come up for sale frequently

Thanks Neddy. So it’s all about the mounting hardware versus size or shape of the seat. Makes sense. Next time I see Jim I will look at the sliders very closely to see the difference. The old bmw had a tilt mounting frame to accommodate access to rear seat and I could see the different mounting points but it still bolted to the seat bottom at the four corners. Thanks again. They do look cool in any of the cars a hold you in place very nicely, be it track or street.

@Doghouse14 - No problem. Generally, if the seats bolt right into 914 and fit just right with the backpad, then they are Scheel 114's (which were made specifically for the 914). Other Scheel models, such as the 100, will require some sort of adjustment to fit into a 914. Along the same lines, the Model 300's require quite a bit of work to fit into a 914 (such as GT seat rails and fabricated mount points).
Thanks Neddy. If you will, help me out here a little. Outside of the headrest being 914 specific, what makes the seats different for a 911 ? Is it the angle of tilt ? When I compared them to friends seats in a 68 911 I could not find a difference. And when I looked at the old ads for the type 100 I could not pick it out. Guide me a little here so I am accurate in future listing. TKS agn
These seats are the Scheel Model 114 seats and are correct for a 914, but not a 911. Nice seats still.
Good morning Porsche enthusiasts. Thank you for showing some interest in these RARE vintage Scheel seats from the late 60s and early 70s. Seats are in excellent condition and are perfect for a 914 GT TRIBUTE or the 911 RS project. After finding one seat in mid 70s it took me sevseral years to come upon a second one. I’m rereading comments. Thought I answered about type 114 vs type 100. I am not certain which they are, if either. These fit perfectly in a 914 and the headrest fits little factory in the back pad. Shoulder bolsters go all the way back to firewall, and tilt works as it should. I have a friend with a 911HR “outlaw” with the same seats , sans headrests

Is this the 914 version? Not sure, but I believe Scheel made two distinct versions - one for the 911 and one for the 914.
@Tgilbert I did a quick Google inquiry and it stated same notions, who you ship with, how quick, etc. it gave range of $20 to send by bus to $150 - $400 by commercial carrier. Hope that at least give you some sort of idea
@Tgilbert I’m sure there is a wide range depending who you use and how they are packed. My plan was to take them up to UPS where they will box them, pack them to prevent any damage, and off they go. May I suggest you give them a call. I think the size matters more than weight, but am not certain on that.

@Doghouse14 I should clarify. These seats do not require any special mounts. No cutting, no fabrication and no drilling. I used factory 914 seat mounts. They bolt right up with four Allen head bolts. I believe they mount up the same way in any early 911. Not sure about BMW 3.0CS & CSL, where they were an option
I do have the a set being used in my car with factory seats and will do what I can to source another set, at buyers cost. Because they are heavy it will impact shipping costs

We have had these some 25 years ( and they were used when acquired) for use in our 914 on and off over the years Most use when we participated in PCA DEs, where our son gained his competition license.
