Finished in Gemini Blue Metallic over a black leatherette interior, this 1973 Porsche 911T Targa is a late model (1973.5) example featuring a 2.4-liter flat-six engine with Bosch CIS fuel injection and a 5-speed manual transaxle. The car was completely restored between 2021 and 2023, including a full repaint in its original color, a reupholstered interior with houndstooth seat centers, an overhauled fuel system, new brakes, and 15” Maxilite Fuchs-style wheels. Accompanied by a numbers-matching Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and extensive restoration records, this 911T Targa is now being offered for auction out of Alabama.
During the restoration by Martin’s Classic Cars of Huntsville, Alabama, the car’s exterior was fully disassembled, stripped, and refinished in its original color of Gemini Blue Metallic. The front cowl was repaired, and the left door skin was replaced along with exterior rubber seals and trim pieces. The car features a front spoiler, 911S-type rocker deco moldings, chrome rear bumperettes, a chrome tailpipe, a driver’s side mirror, a brushed silver Targa bar, a removable black roof panel, and new 15” Maxilite Fuchs-style wheels dressed in Pirelli CN36 tires. The original 15” cookie cutter wheels are included in the sale. The seller notes the car was a multiple concours-winner before the show-quality restoration was completed in 2023.
The interior has been redone with all new black vinyl upholstery, carpeting, houndstooth cloth seat centers, and a new black dashboard. Accessories include a black leather Lecarra three-spoke steering wheel, three-point front seatbelts, manual roll-up windows, aluminum door sill trim, analog VDO gauges, a heater, and a Blaupunkt Denver SQR 26 AM/FM cassette stereo. The original steering wheel is included in the sale.
Equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic CIS fuel injection, the 2.4-liter M911/91 flat-six engine delivers a factory-rated output of 140 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The fuel injection system was overhauled during the car’s restoration, along with replacements of the spark plugs, alternator, batteries, control arm bushings, brake pads, rotors, rear calipers, and rebuilt front calipers. Restoration photos and invoices are provided in the gallery.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, restoration invoices, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the original 15” wheels, the original steering wheel, and a clean title.

@PorschePhil No (yet you have the nice "vent windows" and Targa top); a new high-efficiency AC system can be installed prior to delivery, if desired.
@Davidmcd2018 I'm unclear why they were omitted; added now -- also see the engine video in the listing.

Many pics of exterior, underneath, and even the frunk but why no pics of the engine bay with the motor installed in the car, not even one?
Does the car have AC? Working?
Does it have AC?

@Selbur As mentioned, the matching numbers original concours winning 36k mile Gemini Blue Metallic 1973.5 2.4L CIS Targa was a very nice example pre-restoration; not a wrecked or project-class donor, as most restored to this level are, yet once you get into the project, have the car apart, you find more to do, as all longhoods need restoration to get to this level -- the concours winning restorer had authority to do whatever was necessary to make the Gemini Blue Targa a top-tier restoration.

Could you provide some commentary on the cowl and the door skin? They were repaired or replaced, per the description and invoices. Specifically were those areas damaged due to an accident?
Bid in the amount of $51,000
@Grandy99 Targa top photos added. The Targa top is in it's original condition; it's tight structurally and in very good shape. It was not refurbished given it's condition and it would need to be sent-off for a few weeks and hampered the logistics when the restoration was completed. It would look more on par with the Gemini's condition, if refurbished -- which can be done for the new buyer via a top-tier Targa top restorer, if desired.

@ehd911 Any pics of the targa top? Car looks great!
@ehd911 I think we are use to finding the cert at the beginning or end, not middle. Thanks for keeping us on our toes. Stunning performance oriented restoration.
@stephenolitsky The focus of this restoration was to acquire a quality original example for the show quality restoration. The Porsche CoA matching numbers original concours winning 36k mile Gemini Blue Metallic 1973.5 2.4L CIS Targa was purchased in fall of 2021 from the widow of it's 3rd owner. The Gemini Blue was restored by a concours winning restoration Porsche specialist in Huntsville AL, Martin's Classic Cars in conjunction with another concours winning restoration shop, Tim Marino's Vintage Auto Craft in Pittston PA -- the restoration was completed in June 2023.
@ehd911 The CoA, engine & transmission stamps uploaded to PCM's media gallery.
