Celebrating the final model year of the full-size Mark V, this 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V Collector's Series is one of approximately 3,900 examples to have been ordered in Midnight Blue Metallic. Powered by a 400ci V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission, it features a power moonroof, turbine-style wheels, a leather-trimmed interior with Midnight Blue cloth bucket seats, a CB radio, and more. This well-maintained Mark V is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This example is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic with gold pinstriping, gold badging, and a color-matched Landau half vinyl roof. Additional exterior features include hidden headlamps, body-color bodyside moldings, an illuminated outside thermometer mirror, front license plate bracket, and factory opera lights. It rides on 15” turbine-style alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin whitewall radial tires. The seller reports that the paint and brightwork present extremely well, and the factory electric antenna and glass sunroof function properly. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the cabin features Midnight Blue cloth bucket seats unique to the Collector's Series, complemented by a leather-trimmed dashboard, center console, and door panels. Equipment includes power-adjustable front seats with driver-side lumbar and passenger recline functions, a factory CB radio, a leather-bound owner’s manual with a Lincoln-branded pen, and a matching leather-bound tool kit. The seller notes that the cruise control is inoperative, though all other gauges, accessories, and electronics are fully functional. The air conditioning system is also reported to blow cold, even in warm conditions.
Power comes from a 400ci V8, which delivers a factory-rated 159 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. Recent mechanical work includes replacing the carburetor, changing fluids, installing new drive belts, and replacing the passenger seat motor. The seller states the car recently completed a 150-mile road trip without issue.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, floor mats, a spare tire cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “We have driven this over 400 miles with no issues. A 150-mile road trip, and it performed perfectly. The AC blows ice cold, the engine runs perfectly. This is a turn-key example that can be enjoyed daily.”
