The Porsche 911 Carrera received updates for the 1987 model year, including a more powerful 3.2-liter flat-six engine and the desirable G50 5-speed manual transaxle. This 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa is finished in Black over a matching interior and features 16” Fuchs wheels, a rear window wiper, cruise control, central locking, a Blaupunkt Reno stereo, and more. Showing just 8,100 miles on the odometer, this highly collectible and well-preserved example will soon be available for auction by its seller out of Connecticut.
This example was ordered in Black and features a black removable roof panel, a black Targa bar, a wraparound rear window, integrated fog lights, and a Porsche logo tail panel reflector. Front and rear spoilers are also equipped. The car rides on factory 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the driver is greeted with Black leather upholstery. Equipment includes power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, power windows, air conditioning, a central locking system, cruise control, an alarm system, and a Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 cassette radio.
The air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 217 HP and 195 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a sought-after G50 5-speed manual transaxle. Four-wheel disc brakes are equipped as standard. The seller reports having carried out regular service items, and no outstanding maintenance has been reported.
This sale will include a clean title.

Yes we believe the paint to be completely original. Sorry no meter readings
Do you believe it to be original paint? Sorry to ask late. . And I did not see this question, in the comments. If you have metered it and can confirm consistent, original readings, that would be helpful.
Targa top is also in excellent condition
I don’t see pictures of the targa top. Is it also in excellent condition?
I sold my identical 86 coupe with 30k miles a year ago almost exactly. Triple black. Interested to see how good I actually did.

We are down to the last few hours of our 8100 mile 1987 Targa. Thank you for all the bids and comments. This is the final car of our 3 car low mileage collection. It’s been a learning experience for us and we hope to correct some things in the future. Good luck with the bidding! This car is tough to replicate. Thanks again!

@bertsboat....I see a duplicate of the exact 1987 911 Targa I bought new at Westwood Porsche, with a factory Spoiler pkg front and rear, that's what I see. LOL.
@davethewave911 your eyes won’t lie. I see like new. What do you see?
That Soundstream TC 308 was around $2000 in the day. And the ADS speakers are (were) top of the line. There may be an amp in this car somewhere. Great mid 80’S stereo system here.
You can google Soundstream TC 308 and see for yourself.

I would think a little more prep for the auction would have been obtained prior to it's listing....and almost conclusion.....lot's of unanswered questions here that are important. IMHO.
@skylane9 that’s cosmoline sir. The way it came from the factory. If you clean it you will diminish the value. Dirt can stick to it somewhat. I think this is pretty clean. Like new actually. I cleaned my 74 carrera’s cosmoline. I regret it.
Unfortunately we have not been able to locate either. We are in touch with the previous owner to go through their records. We reached out to a contact at Porsche regarding the window sticker but haven’t heard back yet.
Still no original window sticker or a proper COA from Porsche ?
Bid in the amount of $55,000
With those pictures I assuming that it's been driven. Plus, it looks pretty good. Hold your ground.
The car has been stored with are customer in a climate controlled garage with some other great cars for the past seven years. There wasn’t much history prior to us buying besides the Carfax and the owner inspecting the car and believing the cars originality. As far as the sway bar are photsgrapher said he wiped off some road dirt/grease. He said he will double check for a better photo but said the paint looked new underneath. Hope this helps.
Did you ask your customer why so much corrosion on the belly, pic #144, #147 with the short miles?
And what about the sway bar pic#149, could you explain? Thank you

We purchased this car at auction on behalf of a very good customer back in 2018. We received the car back in trade at the end of 2024. I will check to see if any of the service records listed on the carfax are in file and we can check with the previous owner. I will also double check for the window sticker.
