Positioned at the top of the 155 model range, this Japanese-market 1997 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 combines a 5-speed manual transmission with a 2.5-liter Busso V6 engine. Finished in Rosso Alfa over black leatherette and cloth upholstery with Alfa Romeo-script inserts, it has been modified with race-inspired graphics, Zender exterior components, 17” Volk Racing wheels, Piper Cams performance camshafts, ported and polished heads, and a BMC air intake system, among other enhancements. The seller acquired the car earlier this year in Japan, where it was briefly driven before being imported to the United States. Showing approximately 83k kilometers (~52k miles) on the odometer, this 155 V6 is now being offered for auction out of Florida.

The 155 was designed by Ercole Spada at the I.DE.A Institute in Turin, Italy, and received a facelift in 1995 featuring widened front and rear tracks along with flared fenders. This example is finished in Rosso Alfa with custom white graphics and bronze-finished 17” Volk Racing wheels mounted with 2024 Pirelli tires. Additional modifications include a rare Zender front bumper lip, Zender side skirts and rear bumper, a twin-exit exhaust, and upgraded HID headlights. The seller describes the exterior as being in excellent condition, noting that the passenger-side front door was previously refinished. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

Inside, the driver is greeted with black leatherette upholstery and Alfa Romeo-script cloth seat inserts. All gauges and electronics are confirmed to be in proper working order.

Power comes from a 2.5-liter Busso V6 engine driving the front wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller states that the engine was reworked and refined by specialists in Japan with performance upgrades including Piper Cams performance camshafts, ported and polished cylinder heads, a front-mounted BMC carbon fiber cold air intake, an aftermarket clutch, Samco silicone coolant hoses, and a reprogrammed ECU optimized for 93-octane fuel. Brembo four-piston front brakes have also been fitted. Recent service includes an oil change, new spark plugs, and a new battery.

The seller would like you to know: “One of the finest and highest-performing Alfa 155 V6 examples on the market today, fully dialed in and ready to be enjoyed. The exhaust note is absolutely incredible—thanks to the Piper cams and ported heads, the Busso V6 screams to redline while idling like a racecar. Watch the videos! Featuring a beautifully rare, optioned Alfa-embroidered Recaro interior and ice-cold AC, this car combines performance with comfort. We’ve loved every aspect of this car, but it’s time to make room for new toys arriving soon.”

Here is a quick driving video we just threw together.
Sorry for the lack of production, but our video guy has been off this past week.

@CapitalImports thanks very much for the clarification and further images in the gallery. Do you have a driving video? I had a Quick Look through your YouTube channel and didn’t see one.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
@vordhosben fully titled in the state of Florida under our name.
We have imported and registered over 100 vehicles for our personal collection
Hi seller, is the vehicle registered and titled in Florida, or is it sold only with importation paperwork? Thanks!

@asgor I only have receipts for the maintenance that was done under our ownership.
According to the decal under the hood, timing belt was done at 75,299km so 8k ago (5k miles). Can confirm based on a visual inspection of the belt, water pump, pulleys.
Date code is (1424) on tires
Do you have any documentation showing prior maintenance, most notably belt replacement? Also, what is the date code on the tires?
@asgor that would be the Japanese toll card reader aka ETC
What is the silver box/interface attached to the bottom right of driver's side kick panel?
@CapitalImports Thanks for the clarification. Yea I noticed that when you rev the car, it revs smoothly, unlike the idle, so that was the reason for my question/concern.
@The_Kenyanguy we are very mechanically and performance oriented people with some very crazy builds in our collection. This car idles like that because of the cam 100%. On the road it behaves like a normal car, super easy to drive and feather light clutch.
The timing is on point, no doubt about it.

Hi @Capitalimports, of the two YouTube videos that you have of the Alfa 155 (two different cars), one has a very smooth idle, whereas this one has quite a lumpy idle. While some 'blame' of that idle is going to the Piper cams, could it be that the timing (after the replacement of the timing belts) was not properly done?
@curiousoffice the 155 and in particular the v6 variant is considered a reliable car. Other than the obvious mileage related maintenance items such as belts, alternator, starter, the engine and its design is very good.
Regular parts such as spark plugs, filters and oil are easily sourced from big box car parts stores and more specialty items can be easily found on EBay.
We have owned 3 of these and have been able to source parts rather easily :)

I haven't spent any time researching this, but I wonder how much an issue it would be to source parts for this. I love the looks, value and unique nature of this car.

@surf2day we will have the front bumper adjusted no problems. The front fenders are quite wide so maybe the way the light reflects makes them appear different color but in person the color is perfect. As far as we know only the front right door has been repainted.
We will have walkaround videos soon

Very cool AR 155. Have you examined the front bumper valance to determine if it can be brought back into alignment for the gaps from the body? It has a slight forward slag dipping away from the body. Also, some of the pictures look like the front left quarter panel is a different hue of red in comparison to the door. Are you aware of the paintwork history on it? Thanks a lot and GLW this auction.

Were the DTM versions AWD or RWD? Looks beautiful. GLWTS
