A sendoff to the 996 generation, the Porsche 996 Turbo S was produced exclusively for the 2005 model year. One of just 600 Coupes built, this example is finished in Slate Grey Metallic over a Black full leather interior and was commissioned through RUF Auto Centre in Dallas, Texas. It subsequently received RUF badging, 19" five-spoke wheels, and a comprehensive RTurbo engine package delivering a claimed output of 550 horsepower. Factory equipment includes a 6-speed manual transmission, body-colored exterior accents, the Carbon Package, supple leather upholstery, heated front seats, and Custom Tailoring (Special Wishes that require further communication). Showing approximately 26k miles on the odometer, this RUF-appointed and uniquely specified Turbo S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Oregon.
The 996 Turbo features distinctive bodywork including model-specific bumpers, flared rocker panels, wide fenders with integrated side air intakes, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. As a Turbo S, this example also includes silver badging on the rear decklid and yellow-painted calipers as part of its Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system. Finished in Slate Grey Metallic, it features optional painted front spoiler lip, side skirts, and front air intakes. RUF-appointed details include a discreet hood badge and 19” RUF 5-spoke wheels wrapped in Continental SportContact 4 tires. A collection of images and a clean CARFAX report are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the cabin is outfitted with Black full leather upholstery and enhanced by the optional Carbon Package (small). Additional features include heated front seats, supple leather, Porsche-crested headrests, lumbar support for the driver, a Porsche-crested storage lid bin, and black floor mats with Porsche lettering. Carbon fiber and aluminum accents follow the steering wheel, brake lever, and gear shifter.
The 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine has been upgraded with a RUF RTurbo engine kit, featuring enhanced twin turbochargers, remapped engine software, and a sport exhaust system for a claimed output of 550 HP. Power is sent to all four wheels through a desirable 6-speed manual transmission. Standard Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) provide stopping power with larger 6-piston monobloc front calipers and cross-drilled 350mm ceramic discs at both the front and rear. The seller notes a recent oil change and inspection, while the CARFAX report shows a total of 14 service history entries.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Now here is a Turbo S with an extra kick! If 450hp was not enough for you, here is your solution. This car started as a standard turbo S when it was brought to RUF Auto Center in Dallas, where it was converted to an RT550 package car. This upgraded the turbos, intercooler, intake manifold, DME, and more! With the RUF badge up front and the RUF wheels, this car is a sleeper - nobody will know what's lining up next to them.”

These are criminally undervalued. Better to drive than a Turbo-R.

@VR4ownzU Yes, they do. I also own a low mile turbo and have similar markings despite being careful. Those areas have a thin soft kinda rubbery finish to them which scratces easily. Never understood why that surface or piano black, like in my navigator, is used as they scratch easily.
Bid in the amount of $90,000
@VR4ownzU The center console and side kick plates get scuffed up very easily. Is this what you're referring to?
Do the plastics and touch points on these cars wear/scuff/scratch easily? Just seems kind of beat up for 26k miles on the inside.

@vengerider No service records unfortunately, but it has been confirmed by RUF that this car was modified by RAC in texas early in its lifetime. I've tried to call and ask for a letter or something but all they said was that they would just confirm over email - like what we have listed already. Rear spoiler works - no leaks from motors which indicates it's likely to have been replaced before. Windows close properly with no issues. PCCB have a nice shine to them, as they should, and bite hard like they have never been tracked or beaten on.
@gpmotors Thanks for the response. And just to clarify, there are no service records (not Ruf records) at all? Does the rear spoiler work and have the motors ever been replaced? Do the windows close properly and have the regulators been replaced? What condition are the PCCB's?
As for the wheels/tire issue, I guess there is no solution?
Has anyone addressed the issue mentioned earlier in the post regarding the discontinued tire sizes used on these 19" 5 spoke RUF wheels?
@vengerider No stock parts come with the car
@gpmotors Any original parts come with the car? Wheels?

@mrlove Radio knobs are a bit sticky. There is one crack on the top of the steering wheel carbon (hardly noticable). No windshield chips. No more radar detector insllaed in the car.
@mrlove those pics show them (radio knobs) melted....happened on my 15k car which is garaged and never sitting in the direct sun for too long...the buttons are $30 for both from suncoast porsche and a 3 minute DIY that even Stevie Wonder could perform.
This is a truly awesome car and 996. Some respectful questions if I may. Any sticky buttons on radio / control or have these been rectified? Is there any cracks on the carbon fiber? I believe there was one on the top of the steering wheel at 12 o’clock? Any windscreen chips? Finally is the radar detector still installed. Note: I have tried to only include questions which I cannot ascertain the answers from the beautiful pictures. Thank you…

@designcentric Here is your chance to get another one!
@kekoaalona @porscheguy32 explained it pretty well. We see these cars get passed around quite a bit. Whether they owned it for a couple of years and then wanted to try a different 911, or it was their 3-4th car and they needed the extra money for something else. It's quite often that we see 996/997 with higher ownership count. Not to mention, carfax isn't perfect. I've seen them mess up and report a new ownership when owners pay off their loans/leases.
I had an R Turbo that was also converted by Ruf in Dallas. It's the only car I regret selling. This is very tempting!
Bid in the amount of $30,000
@kekoaalona. These cars are traded often because they are perceived more as an "asset" and not drivers.. Because of the rarity, collectors buy and sell often, the key is to keep the miles low to maintain desirability. Nothing wrong with having many owners, you see that often with Ferrari's as well.
Bid in the amount of $19,911
@gpmotors & gallery- very attractive looking car. Why do you suppose this car has changed owners so many times over the years? Particularly in some instances, several new owners within months of each other??
Thanks All
@dukeyr I've seen it often with the 996 specifically... Not sure why.
@gpmotors
Thanks for the info. Wouldn’t be the first time a awd to rwd conversion was done.
As to the vin analytics printout, is it strange to see a cxx entry with no cost and no description?
NOTE: PPF is applied on the front hood, bumper, and fender. Car paint meters all original paint.
@dukeyr Window sticker has also been uploaded from vinanalytics. The special wishes on 996 were listed, but unfortunately they do not populate on window stickers typically.

@lutzup I have uploaded a copy of an email that one of the previous owners had sent to RUF in germany asking about the engine upgrade. They had confirmed that in their records they show a 550hp upgrade being done to this VIN.
@dukeyr Yes it should say AWD

DME report would be appreciated. Thank you
Agree with @dukeyr, documentation from RUF showing the exact modifications would be very helpful since there can be a lot of variation between builds.
Also heads up to anyone interested - you can't get the correctly sized 235/35/19 and 315/25/19 tires for these 19" wheels anymore. The tires currently on this car are the right size but date codes show they're from 2019.
Also, says power to rear wheels. Weren’t these all awd?
is there a window sticker?
bills from ruf?
what were the special wishes options?
thanks
