Up for auction is an officially licensed by Porsche battery-operated Porsche 356. Made in Italy by TT Toys, this beautifully crafted ride-on represents the first Porsche 356-001 Gmünd.
356/1 chassis 001 was the first post-World War 2 product to emerge from Porsche’s Gmund workshop in Austria. Porsche uniquely equipped the 356/1 with a tubular spaceframe chassis that used a mid-engine configuration. Power came from an 1100cc Volkswagen-derived engine fitted with a custom big valve head. 001’s naked rolling chassis was tested in March 1948 and, by June, it had been clothed with a slippery aluminum body. On June 8th, the car was registered with the Austrian authorities and issued license plate K 45286.
This 356 ride-on features a 6V Motor with a rechargeable 6V battery and a top speed of 2.5mph. Finished in silver paint with a red interior and riding on rubber tires, this ride-on is suitable for drivers aged 3-5 and makes for the perfect decoration or gift for a future air-cooled enthusiast. @RehovLLC12 haha zero! I bought this for my son when he was born at Christmas, and after 10 years of display it has never been ridden on the street and a handful of times indoors. It is almost in 'like new' condition, and far rarer than the recent RS pedal car i just auctioned in the pictures.
