Available for auction is an extremely rare early Porsche 911/914-6 traveler kit. Porsche offered this travel kit for European-delivered cars, providing the traveler with potentially needed parts for an extended European trip through areas that may not have immediate parts access.
The seller states the kit has been stored indoors and is in incredible condition for its age. Many of the parts in the kit are still placed in their original plastic as they were delivered including the plugs which have their protective paper caps. All pockets, sleeves, and pouches are in excellent condition. The fuses are in a Porsche maroon slipcase and the points are in the Magneti Marelli clasp box. An oil drain plug, valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets, plus a valve spring, clutch cable, and fan belt were all included along with smaller parts.
This particular kit would’ve originally been assigned to Weber-equipped 2.0 liter cars. However, as the years progressed, the kits were largely similar so different gaskets and plugs would make this kit appropriate for cars from 2.0, 2.2, and 2.4 cars. It is noted that the bag has extremely minor soiling, please view the gallery for an accurate representation. Also note that the original belt clasps and leather straps are still in pliable, unbroken condition making this kit even rarer.
The original kits differ significantly from the recently-produced copies, which were built in an effort to satisfy the demand of the sought-after originals. Okay folks, been traveling today and just pulled off for a break.
Even though I feel this is likely a $3000 piece in the right hands, we are *this* close to reserve. A bid or two should get us there and someone will score a fantastic, unusual piece of Porsche history.

@Porsche9146gt, thanks for your question. Yes, the kits are adaptable for the 914-6 specifically for the cables you mention. They're equally adaptable toward the different carburetor gaskets.
I have such a kit. Has two straps…. But no longer pliable. A PCA member had a NOS one for sale several years back.

Seems like a 914-6 would have a different clutch and throttle cable than a 911 ? Since one is mid engine? So is it really for both?

Hello and thank you bidders, greatly appreciated. When I got this kit, I'd merely thought it was interesting and unusual. At Amelia Island (where I was displaying), I showed it to a dozen or so people who'd spent long enough on the car to inquire.
With only one exception (a longtime 356 owner and restorer), not one person had seen one. They'd heard of them or seen photos only. That says a lot about this kit, especially in that somewhat jaded crowd.
Suffice to say, if you're at a Concours or other show, this could set you apart. Otherwise, it is simply a fun piece that creates intrigue among the Porsche fans (and non fans) alike. Best wishes.

I'd never seen one before and have now kept it for years, always indoors, never abused in any way. It is one remarkable way to set your car or collection apart.
