Up for auction is this 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S. As the last generation of air cooled 911’s, the 993 holds a special place in Porsche history. Being a 4S model, this example is equipped with an advanced all-wheel drive system, taking its already stellar handling to the next level. Originally sold new in Minnesota, this C4S spent a large portion of its life in California before returning to the East Coast in 2017. It now resides in New Jersey with 88k miles showing on the odometer.
The Guards Red paint is stated to be in excellent condition bearing very little wear. The seller has provided paint meter readings showing slight paint work to the front end that is virtually undetectable by eye. All panels are stated to be original to the car and untampered with. Bespoke to the to the 4S model, you will find wider rear fenders that give the car a more aggressive look. The car is equipped with factory Turbo Twist wheels that wear a set of new Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Inside, you will find a sporty yet luxurious Black and Cashmere Beige leather interior that features full-powered adjustable seats. The previous owner took the liberty of installing a brand new OEM Porsche Classic Radio in place of the original head unit (original head unit is included with the sale). All functions of the interior are in excellent working order including the factory sunroof. Overall, this interior excellent for its age and mileage.
Powering this 993 is its original air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine that sends power to all-four wheels via a desirable 6-speed manual transaxle. The car is equipped with an upgraded sport fly-wheel, providing a slight increase in performance. At a cost of over $14k, a comprehensive service was carried out this August including:
- Front and rear suspension bushing kit
- Lower control arms replaced
- Sway bar links all around
- Valve cover gasket
- Timing cover gasket
- Ignition wire set
- Replaced spark plugs
- Engine mounts
