Available for auction is a Porsche Design 44mm P'6530 Heritage Titanium Chronograph by Eterna. This limited edition watch is #194 of just 911 units produced as a re-issue run of the original 1980 titanium Chronograph. This watch was the first to be introduced in the then new exclusive Heritage collection. The seller states the watch was purchased new in 2010 and is in excellent condition. The following will be included with the sale; bracelet with all links, original boxes, instruction manual, warranty booklet, history booklet, warranty card, chronometer certificate card, hangtag and original COSC certificate.

The Heritage P’6530 is endowed with the same successful attributes as its forebear with push pieces integrated within the lines of the shot-blasted titanium case, and a slender bracelet to match. The case and bracelet are made entirely of lightweight, anti-magnetic, non-allergenic titanium, which is harder than steel, but only half the weight.

The chronograph features a scratch-resistant, double-sided non-reflective sapphire crystal, and it is waterproof up to 60 meters. The dial indicates the time as well as the weekday and date. A tachymeter scale is inscribed on the back of the crystal, allowing speeds of between 55 and 300 km/h to be computed in conjunction with the red seconds hand. The Heritage P’6530 is powered by the proven ETA Valjoux 7750 chronograph calibre and offers a power reserve of 48 hours when not worn. The chronograph comes with a certificate of precision issued by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC) in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

Like everything else produced by Porsche Design, the Heritage P’6530 takes its cue from Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s stated aim to create products capable of acting as ‘companions through life’. The creator of the legendary Porsche 911 in the early 60s is quoted as saying: “When you think about the function of something, its design sometimes emerges of its own accord.” The output of the Porsche Design Studio, founded in Zell am See, Austria, in 1972, has remained true to this idea.

The Heritage P’6530 Titanium Chronograph is offered as a limited and numbered edition of 911 pieces. The venerable Swiss watchmaking house of Eterna is the licensee for the production and sale of Porsche Design watches at the time. Don't miss your opportunity to own an authentic and rare Porsche chronograph. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees.

    Good morning,

Today's the day. PLMK if you have any final questions

When I realized that it had been over two years since I wore this watch, I decided to wear it this week while I was at the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference. Give. That it isn't a mainstream watch it primarily flew under the radar (also, it was mostly under my jacket / shirt cuff). However, one watch guy, who was wearing a ceramic dial Hulk, did notice it and complimented me on it.

I'll upload a coffee break photo up from the other day...

    Roger that Siberian. Happy hunting.

Thanks Frank, just checked with FedEx. I am just concerned that any watch, whether still performing or not to specs after over 12 years has not been serviced. Very interested in the watch but...

For some reason, line spaces / paragraph breaks disappear when I post.

@Siberian the package is 10 x 14 x 15 inches and weighs 10 pounds. The origination zip code is 92024.

    Go to....
    1) www.fedex.com/en-us/home.html#
    2) Select Rate & Ship
    3) Select Calculate FedEx shipping rates

You can then input the above package information, origination zip, destination zip, and wether the destination is a residence, to ascertain shipping costs.

In terms of maintenance, this watch has not been serviced as of yet. Given the size of my watch collection and, more importantly, the frequency / duration that a given piece is in the rotation (for example, the last time this watch was worn was September 2021), I use a timegrapher to monitor performance / health. Per the attached graph, you can see that this watch is still performing within COSC spec at -4 seconds per day as of this morning.

Note, I will be in San Francisco this week and I can bring the watch with me if anyone is interested in inspecting it in person. If so, please contact me directly via the Contact Seller button.

Frank, what maintenance (cleaning etc.) has been done in the past 10 + years? TIA

  • Fjamoroso (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

    Greetings watch fans,

First off, many thanks for the bids.

This is a great piece for a Porsche Design and / or titanium watch enthusiast. It has been part of a ~20 watch collection for the past fourteen years. Even so, it saw less than average use in the rotation (and primarily under the cuff of a dress shirt when it did get the nod).

The pictures accurately represent the condition of the complete set. It's the only COSC certified timepiece that I've received an actual certificate for (which was a thoughtful, after the fact, move on the Las Vegas Porsche Design Boutique's part).

Feel free to hit me up with any questions either here or directly via the Contact Seller button.

@Siberian it will ship, insured, via FedEx from 92024. I'm away this weekend, but I'll get you a shipping estimate (insurance amount based on the then current bid) upon my return. This isn't my first rodeo, so it will be packed securely with plenty of packing material (both inside the presentation back and out) with the watch itself in its own box.

    Thanks again and happy bidding.

    Frank
