Up for auction is this custom Porsche 911 Carrera RSR tribute art installation. Based on an authentic 1974 Targa, this Porsche 911 has been restored and transformed into a rolling piece of artwork in the style of a 1973 911 Carrera RSR race car finished in Grand Prix White. A Coupe roof panel was added and the door, windows, hood, and rear decklid are all fully operable with factory Sekurit glass remaining in place. A single rear control arm, spring plate, stub axle, bearing, and Koni shock make up the rear suspension. A front a-arm, partial cross member, strut housing, insert, front hub, bearing, and a partial tie rod allow the car to be rolled and steered into position. It sits on polished 15” Maxilite Fuchs-style wheels measuring 9” wide in front and 11” wide in the rear.
Inside, the gauges have been redone with custom early style pointers, silver buttons, and custom faces with functional LED lighting. All the exterior lighting is also operational including the brand new Hella H4 headlights. Other features include an Alcantara headliner, a Nardi steering wheel, and custom red wool pepita upholstery covering the dashboard and racing seat. New rubber seals were installed throughout, and all hardware used was either cadmium or zinc plated. Additional images of the art piece and build process are provided in the gallery.
This painstakingly crafted and incredibly unique 911 Carrera RSR art installation would make a beautiful complement to any garage, museum, or collection space. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.
